I don't think anyone would agree with him - homiedclown
Right. But seriously, jack is fun to watch and i "think" hes going to be great but lets be real, he hasnt done anywhere near enough to warrant an 80 million dollar contract. Cmon.
Yeah, looking at some of those names he could probably do the same thing as those guys.
You can't tell me that that OT style wouldn't make the NFL amazing.
That was the best game I've ever seen in my adult life, but I am a Michigan fan, so I might be a bit biased.
Obviously Bills Oilers is the best game I've ever seen, but I was too young to appreciate it(2nd grade). I remember some teacher got some bootlegged tape of it from Canada maybe? I'm not sure, but definitely not from here, and they showed it in school like 2 weeks after the actual game.

It's not about what he's done, it's about what he will do.
What has McDavid done to be the highest paid player in the league? He's had one good season. If you get to throw out Eichel's great season last year you have to throw out McDavid's rookie season.

Apples and oranges here.
Mcdavid lead the league in scoring, took his team to the playoffs, and cleaned up at the awards ceremony.
If you want to throw out his rookie season where he was over a ppg and throw out jacks "great season" last year that was behind that pace then youre left with jacks 56pts in 81 games in year one and mcdavids 100pt season last year... Your words not mine mind you. Apples and oranges.
If he gets his 80 million so be it. I wont be upset. But to make it sound like he deserves it and nobody should say othewise is a little crazy. Im a sabres fan by heart, not an eichel fan by heart. I want whats best for the team. Let him go out and drop a hundred points this year and give him more than ten per if he does for all i care but as of right now i would wait if im the sabres before i back the truck up to his door just to say i did. Thats all.

Any team in the NHL would through $10 million at him imo Besides Edmonton - GERBE!!!75PTS
Apparently not the Sabres, so there's one.
And I'm not so sure you're right.
It is an interesting situation, as the contract will be for anticipated future production...with no real basis to project what that future production would be.
And we have seen it time and time again, an athlete gets a big payday and then becomes an asshat production wise not to mention off the field/ice (looking at you Darius) . I truly don't think Jack is that kinda guy, but there is risk of some level.
It ain't easy.

Jack seems to appreciate the way Botterill is handling the situation.
No need to worry that he's going to be mad. If Botterill wants Jack to earn it, I am guessing he will earn it this year. - thatsapickle
I’m not worried at all I know it will get done ..
But i’m just taking a guess here I’m thinking that Jack is the one that doesn’t want to sign the contract because he wants to prove to everyone that he’s wants the Connor McDavid money which is fine
