So we just exclude it because it goes against your opinion.
In the bigger picture Rychel is better suited size wise and style of play wise IMO over a guy listed at 5-9 for bottom line duty. I'd surely rather have him here over Moulson. - dadeadhead
No. We exclude it because both players had small spurts in the league, probably with unfavorable teammates and minutes.
Both had top line minutes and lots of time in the A. It's a better gauge.
Either way, they both won't be in the league long so it's not worth the argument.
Griffith is a journeyman, and Rychel has been a bust. |

And in those small spurts with those unfavorable teammates one was a better NHLer (marginally I'll add).
Never understood the whole "well it's such a small sample size so lets throw it in the trash theory". Seems short sighted.
One is a better AHLer, one is a better NHLer thus far. Neither probably should be on an NHL roster but I'd rather have the one better suited for a high energy role over the extremely poor mans Tyler Ennis.

Curious as to why he has to clear waivers? - dadeadhead

This.
And you can say that for Griffith too because he had a great first stint in the league, and since has played a handful of games at a time |

And he hasn't sniffed his potential, I can admit that.......(see that Jr that's what you do when you're wrong).
The point is I'm looking at the whole picture.
One player is vastly better than the other in the AHL, when it's time to play with the big boys the other is marginally better probably because he's better suited for where and who they're playing with when called up. IE: AHL All-Star that plays a finesse game probably isn't gonna do well in a bottom six role with no pp time, while a guy known to have a physical side to his game (with offensive potential so far a bust) slides in to a bottom 6 role adequately upon call up. |

Last i saw griffith was on a line with eichel though. Small skilled guy is probably better off there (neither is a long term solution but yeah) |

Or give it time to play out.
but
When comparing 2 players with relative small amounts of time you include it. |

If this is any middle ground, i'd have rather claimed Rychel than Nolan |
