I definitely think the offense is a question mark, but lets not act like Stepan was a star player. It makes the Rangers a lot weaker down the middle, no doubt, but, and its a big but, if Chytil can excel this year, it will certainly lessen that loss. Like I said, if the youngsters don't contribute, I could see the Rangers being on the outside. - mdw7413
I would never act like Stepan is a star player, but he will be missed. Both Isles and Rangers need a lot to go right which is why both are not real cup contenders. |

Yeah, I will be happy if they can make it into the playoffs this year. I have no expectations of a cup, but this goes for the Isles too, you never know what happens once you get to the playoffs. |

Problem will be that everybody else in the metro got better too.
Except maybe the Pens and Capitals. The Caps are going to be hurting a lot worse than they think. - BINGO!
Can the Pens get better? i mean back to back Cups implies your team cant get much better. Caps on other hand i do think are getting worse. Not only are they not confident but time is ticking for them kind of like Rangers. |

Defense is our only question mark. I think our Offense and Goaltending will be one of better in league. |

Doug and the staff are still a question mark, but a lot less than Cappy. Defensive play is the big issue for the Isles.

Caps do not scare me. Still think they should have moved Ovie. Do not think a Cup is happening for the Caps. |

Rick Nash will win a Conn Smythe before the Caps with Trotz and/or Ovi ever win a cup |

There are a lot of questions marks heading into this season.
The one thing I want to avoid is the 10+ game losing streak we saw every year under Crappy. Every freakin' year - it was so frustrating. Let's hope Dougie and his 50 assistant coaches can avoid that pitfall. |

I expect us to start 14-0-3 otherwise this team is an absolute waste of my time... |

Very true Jimmy. Isles have to get off to a good start and avoid long losing streaks. |

Pulock has been anything but steady in the preseason.
I also have very little faith that Mayfield and Pelech will be legitimate options as full-time NHL'ers that positively contribute to the team. - eichiefs9
Agreed on everything but I really think Pelech is more steady than he gets credit for. I can see him eating some minutes and not being a debit. |

This is not a 10 in a row losing streak team. This roster right now is deeper than any roster the isles have had under Snow. This isles team right now is a playoff team. |

The Caps need to trade OV and start over. Clearly they can’t get over the Pens hump. While he’s still valuable you get what you can for Ovechkin and move forward. |

Ovi is more interested in playing in the Olympics than winning a Cup. |

Here’s the problem. With Stepan, he was the Rangers top center. Meaning he was a better center than anyone else and even he was a 1B first line center. So who’s the guy now? I’m actually shocked at the Rangers roster up front. It’s very un Ranger like to lack this much star power. |

I hope not. They managed to make they playoffs even with the long losing streaks. If they can avoid them they should get in no problem. |

I dont see this roster being a ten in a row losing streak team. I truly believe they will be a top 5 in the east. With that said, they need the back end to stay healthy |
