Well then i think that is valid question someone from the media should ask Hextall. - J35Bacher
His answer will be please check the history of LA and promoting Muzzin and Martinez when he was there. Doughty is their Provorov. |

I for one am elated that this franchise didn't commit the cardinal sin of hockey: starting 3 rookie along with 2 young defensemen. Truly, this team would be doomed from the start without the likes of steady veterans Andrew MavDonald and Brandon Manning. An iced defense featuring Sanhiem, Morin, and Hagg lacks the intangibles required to perform well on the ice. |

In regards to too much youth on the back end.
2014-2015 Season.
Carolina went 35-31-16
Defense was:
Justin Faulk 23
Noah Hanifin 19
Ryan Murphy 22
Brett Pesce 21
Jacob Slavin 21
Ron Hainsey 34
John Micheal-Liles 35
ANd right now I think they are better off for doing it. That defense is a solid core of young talented players. - J35Bacher
The Flyers were better than that last year and have a better roster this year. |

He didn't show he was ready to score at the NHL level in pre season. - MJL
hardly a fair statement....1G and an assist in four games. Would have like to see the second highest scorer in Swedish elite league last year get a few more opportunities. He scores and doesn't play another game. It's not like guys like read and weise filled the nets...lol. I think we all know what they offer.

I don't think I've ever seen so much bitter salt being thrown over a team that is still 0-0 for the season and hasn't even taken the ice yet in a game that actually counts for something. |

In my view, I'd like to see both morin and sanheim stay up but if I had to pick one. I'd keep morin. We really need that intimidating crease clearer imo and he helps make us hard to play against which we clearly are not with amac or manning. Sanheim s been great but imo we need morins Jam more than offense. - Hextall271
Out of the three, I would have gone with Morin based on their preseasons. For the reasons you described.
This team is damned easy to play against on most nights. The last preseason game rammed that home once again.

Re the forwards:
I could better understand the demotion of Lindblom if his replacement in the lineup was someone better than Dale Weise. I really don't get what both the management and the coaching staff see in this guy. Hopefully Lindblom is back up soon and Weise is in the press box where he belongs. I also have to wonder just how lousy a player is Lehtera anyway if he can't beat out Weise.
Re the D:
I'm sorry, but I cannot fathom for the life of me how Brandon Manning is in the lineup before any of the kids. AMac I can sort of get, but Manning?? Manning should be the 7th man, period, end of story. Hopefully, at some point soon, they will get past their fear of youth and get all 3 of Sanheim, Morin and Hagg in the lineup on a nightly basis. If they make some mistakes, LET THEM LEARN FROM THE EXPERIENCE. This team is not a contender by any stretch of anyone's imagination. Now IS the time to get these kids into the NHL. Carolina did it, and it certainly doesn't seem to have done any of their young Dmen any harm.
They may miss the playoffs no matter what they do, but I'd rather see them miss with youth. Either way, if they miss this season and don't get off to a good start next season, Hak's job should be in jeopardy. And, if they go on and miss the playoffs both this year and next, Hextall needs to come under serious scrutiny as well.
End rant. - BiggE
I hear you.....thing is they are a borderline playoff team as is.......maybe, just maybe with the kids it gives them a jump and they make it, I rather see a borderline playoff team with the kids learning than a borderline playoff team without them all. Just me

It's not that.
The team has been boring and all we keep hearing from analyst and the organization is wait and be patient until they are ready.
then they go out and show they are ready and as fans we think there will something exciting to watch.
But now we get a "hold up" and "not so fast".
Also the sixers and phillies have done nothing for this city. All these teams are in this trust the process mode.
If people step back, yes they could see the rational for it. But right now the fans and city are tired of being told to wait. |

Don't really buy that. He has also scored at the AHL level already. I don't care that much about him being sent back (actually predicted he would be before camp started), but I think the "reasoning" is not solely due to the play of Oskar Lindblom |

I see your point. A couple of aspects I've considered are that hextall prob thinks it can be difficult for d rookies to come into the trg season NHL and more ahl time can't hurt. Also. With the brutal sched at the beginning he prob doesn't want them getting scorched out west. I get the feeling that we might see them up in November etc with injuries or the inevitable poor play from the vets. Just my sense here. |

Those two had more time in development than any of our D prospects. The fact that two of the three Flyers prospects will be here this year should be even more telling. |

So my other league (for money) the guy does a random draft lottery. I get 1st overall. 45 minutes before draft time he sends a text saying that Yahoo wont let him edit the draft order within an hour of the draft. So our lottery is useless and it creates a random order as the draft starts and I pick 4th |

1. I know nothing about GoT (and don't want to know) but the bird on top is pretty cool.
2. He's still playing?!?!?!? - Scoob
He has been a terrific AHL goalie
edit: also since you asked, the bird is the "three-eyed raven" which is cool/interesting to place as the central figure on the mask because in the books/show the three-eyed raven can, in simple terms, see everything that happens in the world. Funny enough with Leighton is that he can see the past, from others' perspectives. I wonder if he has watched that goal from Kaner's POV |
