I can't wait to see how amac handles Thornton, perry, getzlaf et al. I'm certain he will dominate on this west coast trip. - Hextall271
thornton is coming off some major injuries. i don't think he'll have any trouble with him right? |

Who is more likely to get a scratch or sat for a period for a mistake?
Sanheim/Morin/Konec/Laughton/Leier?
Or Weise/Mac. Truth be horrific. |

I don't disagree but Morin looks ready to compete at the NHL level after 2 years in the A - nastyflyergirl
I agree with that. He was the most consistent and impressive in pre season for me. |

I dont have an issue if one of Sanheim/Morin are in the AHL.
Ill have more of an issue if they are in the AHL in the middle of season assuming the Flyers arent playing well and winning.
Ill be just as annoyed as the others posting here if they are still in the AHL towards the second half of the season and they arent winning..
I honstly dont see what all the rage is right now other than its Flyersbuzz. |

I watched Sam play live at the memorial cup in 2015. He was great that game, but what I noticed was that every time he touched the puck he was booed like crazy by the Quebec fans. I asked some remparts fans exactly why. They said because he's a physical sob and hard as hell to play against. Basically made it hell for their players to get to the net. This spoke volumes to me. All I could say to myself was I can't wait til he makes it to the nhl. We need that component on our d corps going forward to improve. - Hextall271

Just frustration I suppose. Was looking forward to a year of not having to watch the dead weight, that the coach/GM seem to love.
I didn't know how many rooks would make it but all 3 rookie D should have, along with Lind and Patrick. The funny thing is to me Nolan has been worse than any of the 3 young D men yet he is a lock.
Konec having to play with Weise and Fil is just sad really. Same with Prov paired with Mac. Both will probably be be able to succeed in spite of this but are we trying to stunt the growth of these kids?

I do wonder how much of the decisions related to rooks not playing is on Hak, or if it's Hex calling the shots. One would think they are on the same page I guess. - flyer_nutter
Hopefully, they take this tough break with Gostisbehere and turn it into an opportunity to see Morin and Sanheim in some regular season action and then make a final decision. |

I dunno..Im just not upset with the prospect of one of the rookies going down for a bit.
If the team struggles coming out of the gates and no changes are made then ill get more annoyed but right now I dont have an issue with it.

I have a question maybe you all can answer. What does Tyler Leier bring to the table outside of skate really fast? - SuperSchennBros
Speedy two way tenacious forward who can score the odd goal. In his call ups in the past he was late on plays which was odd based on his speed. Him and Laughton have a history playing together so we will see how the 4th line chemistry looks. |

I expect them to struggle this year. Kids or no kids. The goaltending is average at best and the star forwards G/V are showing some concerning signs for more than just this pre season.
I never expected them to make the playoffs this year, too many other good teams to leap frog. I guess I hope that the kids will be called up at some point - but somehow I doubt that. Think it's a numbers thing for them with vets/rooks. |

Anyway is what it is, hope whatever kids do get a chance to play are allowed to play to their strengths, and valuable minutes.
Not get sat for mistakes vets make continuously. Getting tired of seeing dead weight on this club year after year.
Good day, and good hockey boys. |

He came exactly as advertised. It would be like sending Morin down to work on his offensive game. I don't care how much power play time they give Lindblom in the AHL, he isn't going to become an elite scorer. He is a smart, steady, difference maker in 3 zones player who has enough skill to score.
It is just an excuse to send him back down while they have other options at forward. I am okay with the move, I just think it is clear that the AHL time isn't going to turn him into something he hasn't shown he will be or can become. - YuenglingJagr
I disagree. He did not show he was ready to make an impact at the NHL level offensively. He played well but he played a checking forward game. Can't have tunnel vision and only look at now. They're trying to develop him into an offensive player along with the solid 200 foot game. I think you're wrong in dismissing what the AHL time can do for him. It is the right move in my opinion and it's absurd to call it an excuse. |

Did I say something wrong lol? I mean obviously kidding about the eyes (not that his blue eyes aren't bad at all), but in preseason he displayed a shoot-first mentality and was rewarded 2 goals. Flyers love to play with the puck and our two best forwards are pass first guys. Sometimes you just need to fire away with traffic and Leier didn't hesitate to do so. |

If he's truly ready to be the NHL impact player Hextall wants him to be, he's going to show that pretty quick in the AHL. The rookie D situation is much more concerning to me. I don't see Manning providing more value to a line up than Morin. Sanheim is still a bit of a Catch 22 who could benefit from more AHL time but I think they'll need him on the PP if Ghost is out. |

This really depends on where you stand regarding the AHL vs SHL. Personally I think the SHL is >= AHL. He should be on the team IMO, but whatever. They clearly decided that only 1 of him and Patrick should make the team weeks ago. Don't feed my this bull poop that he needs to produce when it isn't his game to be an elite scorer, and his last (frank)ing game he scored a goal. Makes me feel bad for Lindblom.
I refuse to live in a world where Amac and Manning are top-4 defenders on this team. Its incredible to me that the Flyers have managed to make their roster considerably worse as preseason went along.
The recent research on aging curves especially among defenders also suggest this is ass backwards. (Mostly with Morin) |

You just nailed it.
I expect to see D pairs on Wednesday night of
Provy-AMac
Sanheim-Gudas
Hagg-Morin
with Manning in the presser.
then Provy runs PP1 and Sanheim runs PP2.
Once Ghost is back they'll figure out the Sanheim/Manning/AMac dilemma |

I personally don't get the Manning situation if that's what happens. I see him as a part time 6/7 and he shouldn't be in the lineup opening night in my opinion. |
