8 years feels good.
Botterill needs to complete this team, now. - rmiethaner
I have a sneaking suspicion that the deal has been done for a while they wanted to wait to announce captaincy. Maybe later tonight, maybe tomorrow. |

Were you ever a Pixies fan? - rmiethaner
When the Pixies were really going good in the early 90s - it was right after my first wife split in 1989. I spent a good chunk of that time in horrible shape.
I really don't remember much about about 3 or 4 years there. I know they came back later but i had missed the momentum by then. |

According to the Sabres twitter and Dreger (Garth's blog) it is 10 million AAV.
Not that it matters.

I would think the captain announcement would be at the opening ceremony, but ideally Captain Jack and 90 and 55 with As? |

I still say Stevie Ray Vaughan is the best. For a white guy to play guitar like that?
There are some modern guys that technically(picking and fingering) are stupid good, but nobody played with soul and skill like Stevie.
Eddie Van Halen is the most overrated by far. - Wetbandit1
SRV is good but there are plenty better. He played with more intensity and passion than soul and rhythm.
I used to try and convince myself Jimi wasn't the GOAT. But given what he did, in the era he did it, with the limited equipment available, the style he used and the impact on the scene, you cannot deny that setting aside pure showmanship or theatrics or sound, he embodied all of it better than anyone and has inspired more people to pick up a guitar than anyone, ever.
The closest behind him is David Gilmour and then it drops off a cliff before anyone's close. |

A decade of Eichel in Buffalo. Amazing - jcragcrumple
This is the the best day of being a Sabres fan since their last run to the semi finals. Amazing that Captain Jack (here's hoping) will be ours for a minimum of the next 8 - years.
While this is obviously great news for Sabres fans, it has a nice (negative) impact on the Leafs at the same time. Matthews, Marnerr and Nylander are all taking notice of what Jack, Draisatl and McJesus signed for. This is really going to put the Leafs in a corner next year when they have to sign their marquee young players.

6 more years of Eichel with ROR, Mittelstadt next year, this is undoubtedly the best time to be a fan since the ECF days. Moulson and gorges gone next year. Bright times ahead! |

Hopefully Eiche's contract lights a big fire under Rhino's butt. With his roomie making big coin starting next year, Reinhardt is going to want a piece of the action. But he needs to prove himself this year.

Kane too. If he wants to be a 7 million dollar man (with or without the sabres), he better put up 30+ goals |
