Ok this is nuts - sbroads24
How So?
Oreilly is younger and had better numbers last year.
Bergeron is declining. This is whole thing with Boston. Everyone thinks they're better than they are because a lot of their players used to be really good, and are now just good |

Lehner played better than Rask last year
O'Reilly played better than Bergeron last year
I would take O'Reilly RIGHT NOW over Bergeron
Lehner vs Rask is a toss up - jcragcrumple
2 points. He was 2 points better. Bergeron also had 7 games winners to O'Reilly's 3. He also had a better FO%,
Don't get me wrong, I love O'Reilly, but if you were to ask fans around the league which guy they'd rather have, I'm betting that minimially 80% say Bergeron. |

Which goes back to my earlier point. Everyone hears a certain name and thinks "selke, cup" all that stuff. The reality is Bergeron is 32 and declining. O'Reilly is 26 and in his prime. If 80% of people pick Bergeron at 8.25mil at this point over O'Reilly, they're looking at past successes, not present production |

If Bergeron is better, why wouldn't you trade a lesser player to get a better one? |

I merely said why they get more respect. Those two players are a big part of the reason why. Chara used to be another, but since he's kind of fallen off a cliff for the most part, he's left out of the equation now.
You can not like it, and have your reasons why you think we'll be better. I was just stating why people see things the way they do. |

That's cap hit, not salary - jcragcrumple
But the cap hit is the part that's important as a fan. Not the actual salary. That's irrelevant to us. |

We'll see. All I know is I'd rather have 2017 Ryan O'Reilly that 2017 Patrice Bergeron. |

And what is Boston? One amazing line and a lot of meh. I firmly believe we will be much better than them - jcragcrumple
What are you talking about Rask is better than Lehner. Are Lehners numbers better? Sure because he faces more shots which inprove his numbers. Rask had 8 Shutouts and more wins end of story
They have more than one great line. Pastranak, Marchand, Bergeron, Belesky, Krecji and Backes is a good top 6. Not to meantion Vatrano who is a young stud. On D is the same strong D core of Chara, Mquaid and Krug. Despite Charas age he is still a strong Dman. Boston also has two young studs in McAvoy and Carlo.
The fact that you lack familiarity of their team does not make your team Better. Boston will take the Atlantic Division. |
