If Antipin plays well he could get a nice bump (if he stays as well). Otherwise Sam is the only other notable player outside of Kane that needs a deal.

Yea im assuming he will be our back up next season which will save us some money. I did forget about antipin too but I dont see him getting a ton unless he has a knockout season.

you mentioned that most of our defenders were locked up, but our d-core in general is far from complete to a level that would be considered contender/championship.

Not factoring in the situation up front no matter how generous i think of the current defense it still comes up short two 6 million dollar guys. Id rather move on from Kane and dedicate those dollars here.

I know. I figured it was kind of a given being he signed a 1 year deal. I pointed out the Ullmark thing (since he said we didn't need to get a backup) and Antipin because he also mentioned the Defense being set as well.

I think GMJB would be wise to offer a 1 year extension to Kane at 6 Mil. and then when Moulson is off the books you could offer him 7-7.5 for 5.

Did i say they were? I meant that we dont have to re sign any of our current d-core (but I forgot about antipin). I would still like to add.

And for the record I dont think we need to add two 6 million dollar d-men. I also doubt they could anyways

Did your crystal ball tell you that?

Listen, I get it. The defense was awful last year. But minimally it's at least half different this year (the main carry overs being Risto, McCabe and Bogo). Yes, I know Gorges is still here, but I don't honestly expect to see him get a ton of games unless we get decimated by injury.

My point is lets at least wait a few weeks into the season before we say for sure that any particular position is in need of an upgrade.

I didnt take into account antipin or Lehner. When I said we dont need a back up, I meant that Ullmark will be here and he will cost next to nothing.
