Anybody have a link to that quote? I don't want to watch the whole thing.

Or if anyone knows when he said it would be fine too.

It's just spin from the agent. "He left money on the table" only because he signed now as opposed to next year when he presumably would've gotten more. It's not that he "took a discount".

I think the scenario where hes top 2 is one where hes seeing way less of the other teams top lines defensively and a good chunk offensive zone starts. but for that to happen youd need a shut down pair you can trust. That likely means adding two guys in some way.
- Sabresfan-365

I see what you're saying. Almost a 1a/1b defensive pairing system instead of a top2/top4. Could work.

It's difficult to say what the winning formula is any more. One team in the SCF this year had 4 of the top 50 defenders in the entire league, one had 1 out of 50 and little else passed that...the team with 1 won. So maybe you don't need Nashville or Anaheim's D to be successful. Then again, NSH, ANA and STL seem to do well each year with those great defenses of theirs.

those good defenses seem to help them make it into the playoffs. Sprinkle in some real good forwards and a hot goalie . equals a winning team.

Jesus, if you flip Risto's O and D-zone starts, plus have his QoC a bit lower... Sure his minutes would go down a bit, but that's more than offset with the 10% more O-Zone starts.

I'm not saying he'll be Burns or Karlsson, but he could be a 55-60 point guy with 12-14 goals and 40+ assists. He'll still see the same PP time and there's no reason to expect that production to go down; the last 2 years he's seen 21 and 25 PPP.

So uh... honest question. If you bought tickets off of Craigslist for tomorrow and were expecting to pay $100 for section 306 but when you made the sale you get home and the person gave you section 208 tickets by mistake what would you do? Cause that just happened to me...

Issue being here is I am a huge believer in karma. I try to be as good to people as I can and I'm stuck between a "This is a karma reward for being (or trying to be) a decent person." and "You should text them and let them know the mistake or you are being a dishonest jerk."

Think risto can be the sizzle on a top pair, but we need to find the steak. A solid Tallinder like all around guy, not necessarily a flashy guy. Just someone to let Risto make big hits, jump in the play and be the game changer I think he can be

I get that, but its not like you mislead them or were dishonest with them in anyway. you were prepared to pay a price set by the seller, paid it and found out after the fact. If they message you saying such different story. Otherwise its their mistake, not yours.

That karma is not on you.

Take it from the bright side: Your good Karma paid off and some guy stealth hooked you up with better tickets than you thought you were getting.

This is true. ANA and NSH were perennial playoff teams because they had a few good forwards, but a stellar defense. It could be argued that LA and CHI were that way when they won as well.

Still, the Pens didn't have anywhere near Nashville's defense last year and made up for it by having 3 dynamic forward lines. I think we're closer to that than the NSH model.

Yea true. I guess I'll hold onto them and if they text me about it before I go in tomorrow then I'll just exchange for proper tickets and if not I'm sitting in club seats.

Great to see Meyers hit the ice after what he faced last year, watching this game on center ice right now.

Can't wait to see Laine as well.

Hope Kulikov just keeps falling on his ass.

Oh also I have never been to the home opener before do they do anything special before puck drop? Should I go to my seats earlier then I usually would?

This is also true. Then again 2-3 years from now when we could realistically be contenders, Jack, Samson, RoR, Okposo, McCabe and Risto will be entering their 5th year (or so) as a group. I think we're gonna be good, as Kaiser would say.

Mike Babcock had his first scowl communicating "What the heck (though a bit more colorful) were you doing" to his team 12 seconds into the season.

This should be good.

I'll be back again this time my move is different. I got my Class A CDL and I'm being placed in the north central fleet based out of Wisconsin for my first 6 months. After that I can select my own and I'll most likely choose the North East based Syracuse fleet so when I get my home time I'm only a three hour drive from home (Buffalo).
