I think Botterill pretty much said the same thing. They have a strong leadership group and there's no need to rush to name a specific captain. - HonkFortheGoose

The letter might mean just letter to some of you but it actually means more to competitive individuals
They want everyone in the league to know that they’re the guy
And I want my captain to be part of the Sabres history where he shakes hands with the commissioner for the cup or to do a puck ceremony
Hell I want him front and center for the winter classic with that C on his jersey so it cemented in Sabres history
Having the C on your chest increases your play and changes the way the player plays
Sometimes it’s too much pressure - GERBE!!!75PTS
He didn't say they aren't naming one this year. Just said they're not doing it right now. I think they want things to play out a bit. Nothing wrong with that.
then you have to deal with 5:00 rush hour - gerbe75pts
I can definitely relate, having graduated last year. I had two weekly 7-9:40 classes so I missed a lot of games that way. Thankfully im done, and the tank/crappy Bylsma teams are go e now, but I remember there was one game vs Detroit that was a real barn burner during a "Heaven, Hell and Judgement" literature class. I wanted to scream and run out of the lecture hall

You think that having the C on Crosby and McDavid gives them more respect? Please. They would get the same amount of respect without it. - HonkFortheGoose
Yes it gives them more Respect it's their team take on more responsibilities IMO when The C hits your chest your play changes you do things you would not normally and that's a good thing
i hate having a "invisible" C I want jack to be front and center of everything

It certainly didn't with Ott, Vanek, Pommer, Rivet, Satan, Patrick, Dumont, Hecht, Lydman, Spacek, Campbell, and Gionta.
Man we've had some sh!tty captains throughout history.

Nope. That doesn't work if you're trying to grow the sport with the kids. By 8 pm, most kids need to start getting ready for bed or go to bed.If the games start at 7, they get to watch some before they have to go to sleep.
7 works perfectly for me. I have enough time after work to get a few things done before the game starts and then I don't have to jump right in bed after the game ends. - HonkFortheGoose
All due respect, and as somebody who has lived it, this is a post that screams "I don't actually have kids ..."
