I just dont understand leaf fans at all. They have Mathews as the third best player in the world and some even predict leafs to win Atlantic with Mathews getting MVP. If you think that is true then you should expect Mathews to get closer 14 million then 10 million.

Eichel's contract has lockout year figures built into it. Just goes to show you where this whole thing is headed. Paying a guy like Matthews 12 shouldn't be the big problem that it's going to become.

His salary won't be based on whether Leaf fans think he's the 3rd best player in the game so don't know what that has to do with anything.
