Kapanen is going to be good but i dont think he will be to make up for JVRs production. You have to resign Gardiner which cost you around 7 million. I mean I still think they will be one of the top teams but they will have to make some big moves to have room to sign/trade for a top defenseman.

We have Kapanen who can play but can't get into the lineup - Leivo who can play and is the extra forward - a few others chomping at the bit. I think we'll be fine when JVR leaves...Bozak may take a small pay cut.

I still think we'll get MNM signed between 25m - 28m

Nylander and pastrnak mean 6.666+

That doesn't matter at all. he should and will ask for Shatenkirk money+. If he is top 15 in scoring for d-man. He will get paid.

Here's an interesting quote from something Andrew Berkshire just posted on Sportsnet.

"Matthews set up Hyman for more inner-slot scoring chances than any other two players combined for last season, on which Hyman cashed in just four times on 56 chances at even strength."

This idea that Hyman is somehow helping Matthews offensively is insane. Also mentioned was that Matthews lead the league for centers in loose-puck recoveries per 60 minutes so maybe it wasn't Hyman always digging the puck out for him.

Honestly, Ehlers/Pastr are the best player comparisons for either Nylander or Marner. And if we can get them signed for ~$6m I'll be (frank)ing ecstatic
