i think it's a culture thing you develop. if everyone in the locker room is playing for the team and puts the team ahead of themselves, they'll be willing to sign reasonable deals.

based on reilly, kadri etc i think Lou has started to develop that culture. i think that filters down to the new contracts.

Nylander projects higher, the longer the leafs wait, the more expensive it will get. His numbers project better than Pastrnak as well and that one is $6.67 mil a year. A full season with Matthews, if he is not locked up and scores 80 points and he's easily raking Draisaitl money.
