?

not sure where you are going with this. pastrnak can create his own time and space to get his lethal shot off.

maroon is a pylon (soon to be grossly overpaid plyon) that mcdavid uses to bounce the puck off of into the net.

- Tumbleweed

They didn't take long to demote Strome down two lines once they realized he was WAY TOO SLOW to play with McDavid.

Let me make sure I understand here. Are you claiming Pastrnak's success is solely due to the line he plays on (or at the very least highly correlated)?
- RickJames77

Pastrnak is only good because of McDavid. Is it that hard to follow?

Fair enough, but he was demoted from the PP I believe? Anyways, I'm simply saying if you play a lot of PP time you're going to be on the ice for more goals (and maybe have a hand in them) because there's a higher propensity to score in those situations than 5v5.
- RickJames77

He played 1:40 a game on the PP I believe. And 3 ppp is pretty horrible with that much time.

I think however a player is contributing points is fine with me. The PP is a huge part of the game and Ovi made a living being a monster on it.

And if you want to use the PP time argument it goes both ways. Nylander played 13:40 5v5 mins a game while Pasternak played 15:20 5v5...so I guess he had more of an opportunity to grab points 5v5

I just checked too and Pasternak played more PP mins than Nylander as well...so if you are going to analyze how a player has been getting points you have to check all the factors.

I just want to make sure I understood that correctly, because I have quite the retort.

That video from a little bit back dancing shirtless on a bar kicking drinks off is all the evidence of him being a dbag anyone needs.

Lol, i wrote on the Coyotes board that there were no superstars amongst their young players and they started losing their minds. Apparently Keller and Strome will be better than Tavares.

I totally agree - I even took it a step farther to make sure they play in similar situations against similar competition. I wasn't claiming that Nylander player more PP and that's why he had a high PPG, I was chinking away at the notion that PPG is a good stat to compare players across the board.

As an irrational Leafs fan, way back when, PK Subban walked into the box I was in for a Raptors game. I had been chugging blue koolaid and was ready for him to be the biggest POS alive because...well... he was a Hab.

Anyways, NICEST dude. I snubbed him on a handshake when he was introducing himself to everyone because... RIDE OR DIE LEAFS BABY... I feel like a jerk about it though and even more so after he put up for the childrens hospital.

Almost no player annoys me more than him when on the ice, but he's also probably at the top of the list of guys that'd be cool to get a brew with.

Not at all, that is an excellent line but Pastrnak is a dynamic talent. I was thinking more along the lines that Matthews might have a chance to be a more productive set up guy than Bergeron. In doing so, I mentioned that Connor McDavid turned a thug of a hockey player into a goal scorer, not unlike what Denis Savard did for that big salami Al Secord.

I've got Marner, Ehlers, and Trouba in mine. But I'm cool with Ehlers and Trouba (frank)ing off for tonight.

Ok well I'm glad I didn't jump to conclusions. Just as an FYI he's not playing with Bergeron and Marchand this year.

Both are damn good players and have produced very similarly thus far in their careers. The only issue any of us had was with the poster definitively saying Nylander projects to be better.

Leafs have stronger save percentage with Marincin on the ice, in comparison to Rielly....so

Marincin > Rielly
