He faced 40 shots (not including the shootout) and made 38 saves. Yes, he blew it on one of those which led to the game being tied up, but seriously? The whole PP unit on the ice there didn't help the cause any either.

Are there aspects of his game that could still use some work? Yes. He's not perfect. But last I checked, Price also let 2 in during regulation.

For the first time in a long time, I am looking forward to the next game for no other reason than the fact that there is one being played (i.e. no special event, free tickets, etc.).

Can't remember when we had a 4th line play that well. AND we seemed to play 4 lines pretty consistently all game which never happened last 2 years.

Very good game for us. Fast, controlled play most of the time, pk good except for one stupid blooper, Lehner made some very good stops (hats of to Drouin in SO)

Corsi or no Corsi, Reinhart needs to bury those chances.

Antipin, Scandella and Belieau all looked like a huge upgrade from half our D a year ago...just gotta hit the net.

Shootout actually didn't bother me. Drouin made a slick move, plain and simple. He scores on most goaltenders there.

There was a graphic during pre-game that highlighted the 10 players on this teams opening night roster that weren't here last year. The significance of this is that this has not happened since 1970, our first season in the league.

We also have a new coach with a new system installed.

This will take more than one game and a training camp to sort out.

We looked better than last year, and I'm confident we will improve on last nights performance moving forward.

Take a breath boys, it's going to be a fun season!

For sure. I think had this game happened somewhere in the middle of the year, the overreaction we saw by some fans last night wouldn't have happened.

It was a fun game to watch. How could a game with over 80 SOG (spread pretty evenly) not be fun from a fan perspective?
