We were the better team last night. I'm happy with that and at least getting a point. |

This, hating losing but that shg killed them imo, they played a great game regardless. Love Antipins speed and the dmen were all over the ozone all night - Sabres1523
Anyone who didn't expect that there would be some more growing pains this year needs to re-examine their expectations this year. New coach, 1/2 of the roster opening night was different than it was opening night last year.
The fact that they managed to dictate the play as much as they did was refreshing. The way I look at it, things should only continue to trend up at this point. There's still things they need to figure out. The roster isn't perfect by any means, but the fact that they scored a goal prior to the 35 minute mark of the game, had a lead and scored more than 1 goal was a HUGE improvement over the previous 4 season openers. |

Agreed I missed the first but if anything was like the 2nd and 3rd or ot I’m very Happy
I just think we just have to get a winger for jack and pominville
That line would be legit then |

The best part of this team is that they seem engaged.
I haven't felt that way since 2010-11. - thatsapickle
We lost, but as a fan, I was entertained. And honestly, that's the reason I watch in the first place.
Yes, I want them to win more than they lose, but at least they look like an NHL team after game 1. So, I'd have to think that's a step in the right direction.
Oh, and we don't have any weird crazy injuries to talk about that happened last night. That has to mean something too.

The only painful part is watching otherwise sane normal people insert narrative after narrative to convince themselves this team is good. #trusttheprocess - Buffalo--Sabres

I think if we make a trade for a young player that we could get pretty cheap for a second round pick to play with jack and Pominville The Sabres need look into it - GERBE!!!75PTS
According to Eklund, Buffalo is taking with Vegas. (as Vegas is talking with other teams too)
So if that goes as planned, Kane off that line, he plays on a line with O'Reilly or Reinhart? |

I was at the game last night and it was pretty fun. There was a lot of time though where you could hear a pin drop. It was refreshing to watch an up tempo game. A couple things I noticed was that O'Reilly may have had his worst game as a Sabre and Nolan is not really any good. Honestly, I would rather have Moulson out there. He could also play some on the PP. |

If we are able to rid one of Moulson or Gorges, that would be huge.
The key point that Ek made was that teams want Vegas to take money back, so it's going to have to be an interesting package on both sides. |

Totally agree. I want him to get rid of Moulson, but that seems really far fetched. Gorges seems really tough because they already have too many NHL D right now (I think)
Edit: Capfriendly has 10 NHL D, or so it seems. |

My concern is what would we have to give up in order to entice them to take those two. Trust me, they aren't taking them off our hands just to give us something of value. |

They want draft picks (but who does not?) but what would it take to get rid of Moulson? Maybe we take a D back they dont want and a pick (I am pulling for 3rd if not 4th, but doubt that gets it done). |

Are you talking we get an albatross D and a pick for an albatross forward or we have to provide that for them to take Moulson?
If you tell me a D and a pick for Moulson, I jump at that. Which leads me to believe Vegas won't. |

I guess I was saying:
Vegas D
for
Moulson
and 3rd round pick
Looking at their D, I would take any one (cause they only have a year left on most of them)
