A. It's a 2008 study. It means nothing to anybody today.

B. Cam wasn't wrong either in presuming that statistically speaking, most women don't know what it means for a receiver to be running physical routes. But you think it's OK for Dannon to act based on statistical generalities but not Cam.

C. Here's the truth, deep thinker. Dannon didn't cut Newton because he offended women. Dannon cut Newton because WHAT NEWTON SAID WAS OFFENSIVE. For you to suspect that only women would get offended by it is just as narrow minded as Cam.

I'm gonna get on my high horse here a minute...

So this kind of ties in with the whole race issue that exists in this country, meaning that if you're not African American and/or a woman, you don't know or understand how differently those groups of people are being treated in our society.

I know how to change my own oil. And change a tire on my car. I can open the hood and tell you what just about every single thing is underneath it. I know about gas lines, how terrible gear oil smells and all that good stuff.

Yet, when I walk into a place to get my oil changed (because honestly, it's easier to go somewhere and have them do it) they try to sell me every god damn thing under the sun. Like a freaking Cabin Air Filter for $50 freaking dollars. The same part I can go to the store and buy for like $12.95.

That doesn't even touch on the fact that women get paid less to do the same jobs as men in most areas of the American workforce and generally have to pay more for the same types of products (deodorant, razors, etc).

So while what he said isn't generally insulting to you (a white male), it is to women. And I'm not exactly the over sensitive type. Just trying to point out that there are inequalities. I generally brush them off, but that doesn't mean they don't exist in our society.

What he said was inappropriate, end of story.

I get paid less than others in the work place because I am younger and less experienced, even though I am twice the employee they could ever hope to be. And I also have to pay more for certain products because I am a man (razors are expensive as (frank)). Oh..and I do love getting passed over when I apply to colleges and jobs for affirmative action candidates.

If i had the gall to say that these are "inequalities" that affect white men I would be laughed off the planet.

That's where you're wrong. I don't know anything about her, but my guess would be based on the question asked and where she was in general, is that she knows what she's talking about.

No, no no. This is the point. That individual knew what she was talking about, without regard to her gender, and Newton's offense was that he presumed her gender invalidated her knowledge. However, the overwhelming majority of women (I would even bet the majority of men) don't know what it means to "Run a physical route."

Ummm, hate to break it to you, but try being a female. It's even worse. I'm not saying that everyone doesn't face some sort of inequality in their life, but there's a lot more of it when you're female. This isn't just me saying this. It's actually been a pretty big hot button issue lately.
