Looking at the players McPhee has and the list of players he could've had does lean to the side of a "bad" expansion draft. But we don't know all the conversations McPhee had with other GMs or the internal scouting, etc.

Bill Foley says he wants the team to win the Stanley Cup within 6 years. I like the ambition, but that's a stretch especially given the roster. They got their team now it's time to draft efficiently and sign a few key UFAs.

Just saw on the front page that Vegas is looking to potentially trade. EK thinks some teams are letting him clear in order to make a trade with the Knights in order for them to take some money back.

While there's no doubt that Varlamov is the better goalie, I think Pickard has proven to be at least an above-average back-up. Not every back-up can take the starting reins of both the Avs and Team Canada and do okay. Just for example, in LA, they should be jumping on Pickard over Kuemper.

No, no they shouldn't.

The Kings already have a logjam at goaltender. Right now they're running Campbell and Petersen, and they're trying to figure out who they can loan Zatkoff to so they don't have to carry 3. If you claim Pickard and waive Kuemper, if he's as crappy as you think, no one will take him, and then the Kings will have two goalies under contract that they can't do anything with.
