What is it with Buffalo fans. Why can't you just enjoy the positive changes that Housley has definitely brought to an otherwise boring snoring defense first Bylsma team. This team may struggle for a while as could be seen from opening night. We outplayed out-hustled and played well enough to win. Even some of the Candian players were saying the Sabres defense (yes that is correct) seemed faster.

One problem I have, however, is that Kane does not belong with Jack. Bylsma tried this and it was a failed attempt to try and force the two together. Simply put Eichel does not pair up well with Kane. Reinhart should be inserted on that line as both he and Jack have proved they team up well. And Pominville has shown he gels with Jack.
The longer you keep forcing this down Jacks throat the more his goal (or lack thereof) production will fall because it's obvious Kane wants to be the hotdog and be a selfish player. Enough is enough stop - Whats the old saying ...If you keep doing the same thing over and over and expect a different result....

Kane plays LW. Pominville and Reinhart both play RW. Doesn't work. Girgs and Pouliot are your only options. I'll stick with Kane for 10 games.

Why is Garth making the same silly grandiose proclamations about Botterill and Housley as he made with Murray and Bylsma? How'd that work out? Botterill and Housley may prove to be the answer but it will take one overtime loss to appoint them as hockey gurus.

The Sabres have some really nice pieces. Just not enough of them. Any team that is playing a 35 year old right winger on the 1st line. One who has averaged 14 goals a year during the past three seasons has real issues. Apparently now Pominville is top talent. Wow.

Talent drops off dramatically after the second line. No amount of preaching from the gospel will help when Phil is coaching against equally talent coaches but with more coaching experience and deeper, more talented lineups

Welcome Back Dookie3030...good to see you calmed down a bit since our last chat.
Garth called him the Reverend, and yes, Garth is going overboard on what a great coach Housley is.

To set the record straight, I don't hate the Sabres or the fans, I just like making fun of Garth and the stupid things he says that are false. He's a homer in it's purest form and his judgment is cloudy as (frank). He's so over the top but when I call him on his Bullpoop some of you guys get a little testy...which is fine.
There are 3 basic things I pick on Garf about, and spelling isn't one of them.
1. GMTM always gets his man....
-except he rarely did. At least not with McDavid, Babcock or Vesey anyway....so Bullpoop? Anyway, he's out, so we'll move on.
2. Jack Eichel is a generational talent.
- He isn't. That isn't a knock, he's an elite talent, he's just not of the rarest ' once every generation ' category reserved for Gretzky, Mario, Howe, Sid and McDavid. Eichel has the potential to be remembered along the likes of Malkin, Ovechkin, Messier and Jagr...not sure why any of you take issue with that.
3. Every new coach/GM he gives way too much credit for his former teams past success. They are clearly good hockey people , that's why they have the jobs, but it's kind of insulting to Rutherford when Garth names Botteril as the 'architect ' of back to back Stanley cups, or saying Housley led the Preds to the finals.

Having said that, The new guy has done excellent work this summer fighting all GMTMs wrong to the best of his abilities, and I think the Sabres will be in the mix for the wildcard spot this year.

If you guys wanna spazz out over what I just said, go ahead, doesn't bother me a bit.
