Geez, such downers. We're 1-1-1. Usually we play really bad in 1 pm games. We outshot them. Allen was a wall until he lost his mask basically(lol). We're not chipping and chasing anymore. Don't know why people aren't noticing that cause those are improvements. Mayfield is skating a lot better than last year. The PP - goalwise - sucks yes, but game by game we're generating more chances. My main criticism is on CDH. He's been dreadful during this small stretch. I get it's 3 games, but 5 on 5, he's not been himself.
Barzal looks like he belongs right now. Unlike Ho-Sang, Barzal knows when to pass the f'n puck and when to take a shot. Now, if the team shows signs of 5 on 5 regression during a huge stretch, then I'll panic and release a 6 min fb vid of me venting my frustrations again(and they ain't pretty neither). - bgainesDM
Also important to note that this isles team scored to tie the game less than a min to go. That’s very un isles like. They stole a point. |

I think people are unhappy because ultimately the PP, which is arguably the most important part of a winning team is no different from years past. It’s awful.
I still don’t understand and no one can explain with 7 is a righty on the right side and 91 is a lefty on the left side????? |

New PP system. People may not believe this, but it actually takes a lot longer than a month for a team that's played with the same previous PP system for over 5 years to learn an entirely brand new one. |

What system are you referring to? You have the man advantage. It’s simple math. Gain the zone and find the open man. But you completely negate the one timer with a righty on the right side and a lefty on the left side. Not to mention you’re telegraphing the play to Lee in front. |

If it was simple, everyone would have a 100% PP%. Not denying it needs work. Case in point, Greg Cronin's PK system from October(2014) - January 2015 to afterwards. Gomez as well as the players will make the adjustments in time but they're most likely going to get a feel of how the players operate in a 10-20 game span. |

Nothing at the NHL level is simple. I never said it was simple I was pointing out your use of the word system when the PP system is the same for every team. Gain the zone, find the open man, make the goalie move side to side and get pucks at the net. The isles have done a very poor job while in the zone. Again their PP is telegraphed. It’s a joke. |

not for nothing but the Coliseum ice was never known to be great ice either.
what next clutterbuck going to say the Barclays boards too hard too.
I thought effort was great yesterday. we outplayed them bigtime in 2nd and 3rd period. Nice rebound game by Greiss though i pretty much know we doomed when its him in shootout. 1-1-1 is respectable. lets get a few west coast Ws now. |

What about the fact that they were supposedly doing this same PP for almost the 2nd half of last season or should we just forget about that?
The PP is a mess just accept it. Looks like shat and it has to be changed. |

JT already spoke on the ice did Cal say something as well? What JT tells Cal to jump and he says how high? Cal should focus on staying in the lineup and earning that contract. Even building built for hockey have issues with the ice. They have all these other events going on. Stop with the ice already and talk about the lousy PP instead. |

I believe Cal made some remarks late last season on the subject of the ice........as in the ice at Barclays sucks, or words to that effect. He may have even attributed JT's late season injury to the poor ice conditions.
Don't you realize that if Barclays had better ice, the Isles' power play would be wonderful? |

If you think JT stays on the same side throughout the PP your not watching. The players are constantly shifting from right to left the point to down low. Come on guys this isn't Pee Wee hockey, please - nyisles7
More often than not he’s on the off side as was Eberle. Clearly they move around, but when you have possession you can move to the correct side.
Either way they’re what 0-10 on the season thus far with the man advantage. Somethings not working. |

Agree its not working kR but its not because JT is on the left vs the right, thats what I'm getting at.
They are just not getting the open shot which comes from crisp swift passing, imho.

When Cal and JT speak sometimes I can hear the little violin playing. Stop with the excuses already. Captains should not be making excuses. - ses111
Well bC isn't going to spend a dime fixing the ice making equipment that's for sure.
