Why is Ryan Pulock not playing? Mayfield over Pulock? Really?

Milbury started out with John Spano (my hero) as his owner, and the next guys were cheapskates. However, when Wang bought the Isles, he practically gave Milbury a blank check, and Milbury went out and blew most of it on Alexei "Cashin" Yashin. ($90 million over 10 years!)

Yes that's true he had to try and buy a team because there weren't any younger players or prospects left
Don't get me wrong Milbury sucked as well!

Buffalo is a tough team and Mayfield adds grit and toughness

Don't know, but I would guess because Pulock sucked in the pre-season games.

Buffalo is not a tough team. Then again, you're always wrong, so there's that.

I have always argued that Maloney was the worst GM in Islanders history. He basically took a Cup contender built for him by Bill Torrey, and turned it into a lottery team. Milbury and Snow have been bad, but they weren't handed very good teams to start with.

- JohnScammo

It's definitely debatable. What Maloney did was unfathomable leading up to the turgeon trade. BUT both Snow and milbury are giving him a run for his money. Most younger fans just say milbury he's the easy choice. At least the guy actually did something and not for nothing his first couple years he actually built a pretty good team that he had to dismantle bcs of ownership

I say Milbury because of the devastation he left behind. The team had no talent and the prospect pool was drained. It was a wasteland. If a team is going to suck for years there should at least be picks and prospects in the pipeline. Milbury left the team with nothing except the Yashin contract.

When you say Milbury built a pretty good team "his first couple years", I assume you mean his first couple years under Wang. During Milbury's first couple years, the team stunk, Milbury kept changing coaches, goalies, skaters..... nothing worked. After Wang took over, he opened his wallet, and Milbury signed Yashin and Peca. It was Peca as captain who led them to the playoffs 3 straight seasons. Then Dummy Milbury traded Peca for the forgettable Mike York....

If you don't want Pulock, trade you for Gudbranson. I'm gonna need a 4th rounder added to that though.

They do. Isles still have to understand you will not always have a play and cannot force something that is not there.

They don't have good puck control in the offensive zone. It's not as bad as last night, but it needs to be better.

If there's anyone in the NHL who is weaker on the puck than Josh "chains" Bailey, I haven't seen him.
