confirmed: eichel is the new peters

My concerns about the forward group are becoming a reality so far. Kane is the only legitimate top six (even top 9) LW On this team. Girgensons and pouliot are not the answer. I’m not sure the Sabres did enough to add to the forward group in the off-season (not saying there were a ton of options for them) although players like eberle, Johansson, panarin ect. were avail for a price we may have been able to afford. Reinhart is showing that away from Eichel he is an average player. It’s early but if I had the choice, I’m ditching Sam and extending Kane. Also I had a few concerns about Oreilly fitting in on this team. Again early and I’m sure he will have another solid year as usual but something to monitor.

These are my early thoughts/observations. Hoping we can pull it together

Give Girgensons time, he's looked like one of our best players so far this season. He's only on a one year deal anyway. I can see 15 goals from him if he stays healthy.

Didn't like Nolan scratched for Moulson.

Jack + Evander... why not + Okposo? I just do not get why you sign a RW to a multi-year, multi-million dollar contract and have refused to play him with your franchise center. He clearly isn't racist.

In what I saw of the first game, Kane did some Kane-ish bad shots/penalties.

But from what I was told he was great last night

So the Phins get a free win with Mariota out

Win some/ lose some....can't wait to experience the first part.

Didn't watch most of the goals against last night. Was it team defense sucking, or was Lehner just sucky? What I did watch in the 1st and 3rd the team looked scrambly.

I was worried as soon as we signed him. Players like him, moulson are such bust contracts. Guys over 28 shouldn't be getting more then 3 years in a contract. Pay the young guys, let other teams over pay or give late 20 guys the 7 year contracts (besides hall of fame talent)

The NFL's rating are going down, but they were before this whole kneeling thing happened. First of all, their ratings couldn't get much higher, so they were going to decrease. Secondly, it's all about markets that are doing well. San Diego and St. Louis actually did very well, and a lot of people tuned out because of the relocations. The NFL will recover when the games really start to matter.
