Shipachyov requested a trade from LV. 4.5 million cap hit but he has 2C talent level. He's in the AHL because he's waiver exempt not because he can't play. He would be a much better option than Sheahan just have to figure out who goes back in the deal to make the cap hit work. He could centre the second PP and I bet he and Kessel could make some magic together.

Why the F was Maatta dropped to Ruhwedel on the bottom pairing? Multz was really clicking. I think they should have just gone with the top 4 and hid the bottom pairing. Hunwick in the top 4 is not good.

That's my stance. We're down a man. That sucks. But I don't think we should over adjust to the loss of Cole. Our defensive depth isn't good enough to spread out the talent. Hunwick-Cole wasn't a good pairing to begin with and merited sheltering anyways, so we should just do that.

Its tough to show analytics for a player who's never played in the NHL since so many analytical measures are individually and manually tracked on a game-to-game basis. Preseason is too small of a sample size to mean anything, especially when you consider teams aren't icing their best roster.
