The real worst part about it is kane doesnt play half assed.

I thought something was different about him last year and it continues this year. He may have figured it out and besides the scoring they will lose everything else he brings the team already lacks.

He was 20 then, he is 26 now.

I think he likes playing with eichel, and has changed his game since his time here. It led to success last year and he is absolutely flying out of the gate this year.

And then he came here and is in his 3rd year and is the same player he was when he started, so I'm not really sure what you're getting at.

It's his skating style. He learned a very unique way of skating and can accelerate probably faster than any player I've ever seen from a stand-still to full-stride.

Simply giving my opinion on the idea of kane playing himself out of buffalo. Which unless he takes a discount will probably happen. Agreed about being scorers being streaky, but that guy brings so much more to the table and he comes to play every night.

Its more about the team being slow/not having enough top 9 guys that have a real presence on the ice. (looking at you reinhart and okposo)

Kane is absolutely gone before next year. He's just not the right guy for this franchise to make a commitment to long term. That being said the Sabres put themselves in a horrible position with him because no one can step up and fill the role he's in and no one will take advantage of the ice time void left. He should have been traded last year (I know, the offers "we'rent there) so whatever benefit or asset was coming in return would be closer to seeking to fruition today. Crap situation.

They've given up 12 goals because they are learning to play a new system, one where the d jumps up into the play... and one when they do and get caught they are giving up 2 on ones... did you or anyone really expect them to execute this properly right away... ???? It going to be ugly for a while... and other games it will look great...

They are better than this, how much remains to be determined.

I personally need to see at least 10 games before i start freaking out, so i think giving them a bit of a leash with their new coach is reasonable.

Some new defensive pairs may help, bogosian may help.

Not sleepwalking any part of a game will help.

I don't think it is the more talent thing thats needed , I think its just time together. the teams that just beat us have been mostly together for a lot longer than the Sabres .
