I think he CAN play center, but he's going to be a 30 point player on our 3rd line.

He doesn't generate enough offense on his own to carry a line.

Even his goal in the preseason was the work of his two linemates. Not to discredit his goal, but Girgensons/Griffith won't do that enough to justify a #2 overall pick being used in that role.

Yeah he simply hasn't taken the next step. He's weak on the puck too often for me being that he's playing in the middle. +/- isn't a good stat, but -5 is glaring. If he starts to show up fine but you're right to this point he's been a let down as far as draft status.

I would put him with Jack, and look to move him for a good D after this year.
