Those two are not overrated...just not playing up to their potential.
Lehner...who the hell knows.
The rest...yes, they are overrated. - feetontheair22
what is our winning record with ROR as a top 2 center
what is the 5 on 5 scoring for ROR's line?
bottom 5 in the league compared to other lines, w/o looking it up
it's part of the problem
move him to the wing and let girgens be a center |

every sabre looks like crap except
kane, eichel, pommer and a few 4th liners and gus
when 15 of your 20 players are not focused, that is a big issue
when both goalies, risto, ror, okposo (or whatever his name is now), reinhart etc are all out of it, we are in big trouble
it's not like we got blown out by the hawks and blue jackets
we got blown out by other lottery teams - homiedclown
The Isles shouldn't have been a lottery team last year. And actually only missed the playoffs by 1 point. That Devils team may have been a lottery team last year, but I watched them against Colorado the other day and they look like a much better team this year, so it is what it is.
It's a new system, with pretty much half a roster of new faces. It was brutal. I won't say it wasn't. But a lot of those guys you listed above as not looking good are guys that should be able to turn it around.

The three bolded I cant agree with you on, but the others....
ROR and KO are both proven to be good hockey players, - Sabres1523
ROR was good as a second line player for a colorado team with a decent top 6
Okposo was good as a winger for JT
as sabres, their 5 on 5 production has been blah at best during their tenure here |

I get it
the other teams are getting better than us , faster
if they lost to the hawks and blue jackets this way, it would be an easier pill to swallow
it's like 15 players are gripping the stick too hard for every shift
and jack is trying to do too much
but kane is being kane, love him or hate him

Kane has been great. 0 complaints from this hater (he really needs to stop taking penalties though) - sbroads24
Doesn't saying he needs to stop taking penalties count as a complaint?
Anyway, the reality is you're never as good or as bad as you think. There have been a lot of changes in Buffalo and like it or not, it sometimes take time to get results. Honestly, at this point it's on your coach to get everyone on the same page an putting in the effort. |

Because that's what I said?
Sorry but no. I'm over beating around the bush here. It's no longer the time to be nice and make excuses.
Of course I'm not gonna walk up to my child and tell them they're a talentless loser and think it's gonna make them better, but at some point, you gotta get real and when it's adults, you can't play nice anymore. They need to stop having their asses pampered.
They're spoiled, entitled millionaires who have no passion. |

Yeah, but that's always been an issue with him.
Usually it's the other things that he gets criticized for, like ruining chances, taking bad shots etc. Compared to the rest of the team he's been decent in those areas |

Its really sad when you think about it, that should be the last thing we should have to worry about.
I could understand if we were getting beat but still competing, the coach has what 3 games under his belt and the team has given up on him?
Lack of depth/talent should be our downfall not crappy efforts out of 80% of the players. |

Yeah, I mean, we all sided with Jack about Bylsma. But I at least considered he was being an entitled brat.
This season, he's already given up on at least one game. They all gave up the other night. 3 games into the season, that's not cool. It's game 3. You don't give up already.
I said something about giving Jack his contract before he earned it, and that goes beyond production. His attitude has shown me he didn't earn it. He's entitled, aloof and bitter.
This isn't just 3 games into the season, it's his 3rd season.
They look lost and it's a new system. That is an excuse. But to pout and cry and give zero effort and show zero passion, that's inexcusable.
The biggest complaint with Jason Pominville in his first tenure with the Sabres was his lack of passion, complacency and constant phrases: "The other team wanted it more" ; "We didn't try hard enough/We didn't bury our chances" and etc...
And he perfectly embodies the current body language of a team that's only 3 games into a new season. They didn't leave the past few seasons behind and they need to pull it together fast or things are going to implode.
I just want to see effort. I'm not. |

they really don't
mccabe, ror, okposo, pouliot, lehner, johnson, reinhart, beaulieu
are all over rated
there is a reason why 6 of these 8 players are playing for the sabres instead of their original team - homiedclown
That's kind of nonsensical. Plenty of good to great players aren't playing with their original teams. Seguin, Kessel, Johansen, Seth Jones, Evander Kane, Subban, Weber, Byfuglien, Burns, hell how many teams has Ladd played for, 4?... |

How many points do the Preds have? The Sharks? The Stars, the team everyone said was going to bounce back?
I know it's said every year, but every year there's massive amounts of change. It's been 3 games. 1 good, 2 very bad. But still just 3 games. We have 10 new players, a new coach with a system that's antithetical to the old one, and what, they're supposed to be totally integrated and running it flawlessly after 3 weeks together? It's going to be at least a year.
You can't keep drastically changing things every 2 years and expect any kind of success. Everything is now, now, now. But it doesn't work like that. |

Go back and forth between woe is me and this. I guess I just expected to compete out of the gate. If we lost 3-2 or by even a couple goals that would be one thing, but last two we got the doors blown off. I'll pump the breaks and discontinue my whining, but I really do hope you're right and that this will get better as we go. |
