it's not debatable who the better player is.

it's also not debatable that we are a lot thinner at C than wing.

Yep, Brown's definitely making a big push and I think he'll leave a big mark

lol

i think hunter already found the guy. aaltonen seems like a 3C in the making. just needs some time in the ahl.

if they keep enforcing the rules, i think faceoffs have become more important. it's a lot easier to win a draw cleanly and much less of a scrum off the draw.

If Aaltonen is that guy - then you've answered your own dilemma. Don't need Bozak, and sign JVR to a team friendly contract just like uncle Lou did with Brown.

I see a couple of issues with the new face off rule. (1) It takes aggressiveness out of the draw. (2) The team that gets thrown out / warned has little chance of winning the draw because a less competent player takes the draw and also fear of getting a penalty.

Got to bed after 1 am last night.

About to go into an hour meeting, where I will have absolutely nothing to say or do.

I'm terrified I will fall asleep.

Wish me luck, boys.

Just poo a little bit so it gets between your ass cheeks but not all the way to your pants. That'll probably keep you up.

From last blog-
Am I the only one who sees Bozak as more valuable to keep than JVR?

Bozie at 5x4M would be great. Komo and JVR I see as guys we simply just can't keep into next year no matter how much we'd like to.

I also think we have 2-3 possible replacements for each. Bozie? I can't think of a single one.

- mcleafs

Nylander could/would/should replace Bozak. Then Kapanen replaces Nylander's vacant spot on the wing.

5+ Goals scored by the Leafs tonight.
The NJ defense really isn't that good.

Only worry is Bozak and JVR against Henrique line..

i'm saying we can't just throw him to wolves. he's not the most defensively responsible winger, and worrying about C responsibilities might throw his season off.

Taking some draws, stepping in for a few games due to injuries and then giving him a chance to win the role in camp next year is what i'd like to see.

for this season, i still see a need for bozak (or another veteran C).

next year things could change.

The same can be said about the Leafs defense. So it should be an even battle and high scoring.

No Chance. They'd pull him at 4.

He had COL and BUF to start the season. He now has to play against an NHL offense.

If the Leafs score a lot, it'll be because they smarten up, actually draw more penalties than they take, and score on the PP.

Otherwise I think it'll be a tight 3-2 affair going either way.

Yes.
Even though I think Schneider is probably best goalie in NHL right now.
