ROR - Eichel - Okposo
Kane - Reinhart - Pommers
The rest
ROR can take faceoffs and swap with Jack -
FOW % should NOT Trump goals scored - ridiculous.
Either Put Reinhart on Top 2 lines or Trade him before he is not worth anything. His brothers are busts at this point. |

they love beaulieu for some reason...he's third-pairing at best in my book - Michael Pachla
There are elements to his game which are desirable for a modern day d-core. But hes probably best suited for the 4/5 role and maybe some PP time if he can develop any kind of shot |

Interesting thoughts
As far as Reinhart goes...
I’m far from giving up on the kid
But our defense is STILL an issue
And O’Reilly seems to be struggling as our top “defensive” center
At this point,
seriously considering trading Sam for a legit defenseman or Tavares could really help
Larsson can hold down the fort as 3C
Or Asplund is supposedly close to ready
And we’ve got centers (Mittelstadt & Pu) coming if we want to go back to a 3 scoring line approach at some point
OR
Bringing in Tavares frees up O’Reilly for easier assignments
And we’ve seen JT be effective while playing with just about anyone they throw on his line in Ny
ALL OF THIS assumes that we’re ready to make serious changes when it’s ONLY 3 GAMES IN with a new coach, new system, and 10 NEW PLAYERS IN THE LINEUP
Yeah,
I know that’s kinda the same old excuses
But it’s also legitimate
Maybe a big move is necessary
But maybe we just need to exercise a little patience
Yeah, that 2nd option kinda sucks
But if could well be the better way to go |

@JD -
Sam needs to play with good offensive players - he appears to not be able to be "the man" and generate the chances - disappointing for a 2nd Overall pick.
My point is put the top guns on the Top 2 and put more worry about the bottom 6 (3rd line really) and go from there.
Our D? Our D is our D and Phil will have to back up his reputation. So far...zzzzzzzz

The defense will take some time to come along. The talent level is low, however, that's not an excuse for their play so far. But to be a good to great defense Buffalo will need more talent on the back end.

Hey Michael, I enjoy ur blogs cuz you write with logic. Am I wrong to say that this team is struggling to grasp housley's system or does it go beyond that? I feel there is more talent than what i have seen so far. Looking forward to the battle of the QEW and the battle between Auston and Jack for bragging rights of best american born centre to be talk of the NHL. |

Thanks sir
Not that these 3 games haven’t sucked...
well, the last 2 have
It’s not unreasonable to think that the results we want will take some time
And even though we have many new players, I think we can all agree the roster still needs work
But even with these players...
the SH goals aren’t gonna continue & the PP will get better
Those 2 things alone will translate to more points & wins
Clearly though,
this team has a ways to go
But I also still think we are on the right track |

Hahaha
To be fair...
we obviously have issues that need to be addressed
I get how that can be frustrating to fans hoping for us to finally start winning though
Watching games 2 & 3 was brutal |

I was actually pleased with the Montreal game and thought we were the better of the two. We certainly stunk it up, but I'm coming around to agreeing with this...takes time, 10/17 players are new to the lineup...that matters.
SH goals stop and the PP picks up, we're at least competitive. The SH goals have been back breakers. |

Yeah, it's not like the Islander's or Devil's should be confused with Pittsburgh or Chicago. Brutal hockey to watch and I am one of the positive ones on this thread. Hopefully they bond on the west coast and at least split the 4 games.
