Vecchione played wing during preseason cause his long term future with us is not at center more than likely. I personally would take out Weise and filpula for younger guys. - Tfaehner
Filppula isn't going anywhere and he actually played pretty well against the Preds. Weise, yeah, I'd be very happy to see the last of him. That being said, I don't see anyone, right now, that should be called up to replace him. I agree with them that Lindblom does need to be more aggressive offensively and I want to see that on a nightly basis in LHV before I'd bring him up. Vorobyev is a pure center and wouldn't fit the bill, plus his game could use some time in the AHL and he really needs to learn at least a little English before coming up too. Vecchione could soon be that guy, but I'd like to give him more than a week to adjust to playing wing for the first time.
I don't think they need to rush out and do anything right this moment.

Lindbolm looked ready in preseason and his last SHL season is also a sign to his readiness. Vecch and Voro didn't impress me during the preseason when they played. And Lyon needs a year as the man in Lehigh not a split with Stolie. - dragonoffrost
I think defensively he looked NHL ready, but both him and Patrick didn't show much from an offensive standpoint. I thought Vorobyev looked pretty good during preseason. |

Lindblom vecchione vorobyev Lyons morin are among the guys that could and probably should be in the nhl. - Tfaehner
Morin is the only one who I think you have a legitimate point on.

All the youth doesn't seem to be hurting other teams. It's just the flyers organization that youth apparently scares. And I can see why with the amazing vets we have - Tfaehner
The Flyers have the 7th youngest roster in the league.

The Flyers scored 13 goals on the trip. That's over 3 per game. Offense seems fine. |

I think it may be possible that AMac gets traded this season. Hextall will work his magic just like he did with Grossman, Vinny, L.Schenn, Pronger ect. Of course there will likely be a % of his cap retained but I think Hexy gets it done. Lehtera will be bought out of his final year like Umberger was - xShoot4WarAmpsx
Umberger was bought out because they needed the cap space and he had a NMC which prevented him from being sent to the AHL. Neither applies to Lehtera. |

Well you knew certain players were locks regardless of how they played. There were only a few competing for spots. The only player you could make an argument for Lindblom playing over is Weise in my opinion. |

Patrick seems to be working it out fine in the NFL doesn't he ? I actually think vorobyev offensive instincts were really good and he's defensively responsible. Would actually love to slot u in with weal Simmonds and keep tk nolan together. Could move filp to wing on nolan tk line. Or you add lindblom and take filp completely out. Good game bad game - I don't use Weise as a whopping boy like some. Filp Weise etc won't be a part of this team when it's contending so I don't care about their minutes |

Yup, they shouldn't have any cap issues next year. With that in mind, if they need to open up Lehtera's spot and they can't trade him with the max retained, then they are better off just waiving him and lowering his hit against their cap to 3.575 million. There is no need for a buyout and having any of his dead space on their 19-20 cap.

Yeah Patrick does seem to be working out fine, I agree. I'm saying in preseason he didn't show much offensively. Could have been rust from not playing/coming off an injury though. |

Oops :'(
But let's say we did things that little bit differently. Filp Weise for lindblom vorobyev gudas for Morin. Lyons nhl back up. What would of hurt ? Do we get closer to our future ? I think we do. |

But we knew from his body of work that he was better than he showed. Same goes for lindblom we've seen him dominate a professional league. We know his capabilities. |

He dominated a league with a different sized rink, which is a big deal (less so for forwards, given). Let him acclimate at the AHL level for a while. Not a huge deal. |

Maybe. I think most of those players (Lyon, Vorobyev, Lindblom) are better off in terms of development, playing big minutes in the minors.
Morin is ready. I want him to play. Disagree with sending him back. |

Fair. So next year. Only filpula comes off the books that's currently on the nhl roster. Now what ? |
