And his defensive partner is 36. 4+36=40 that's EP's number!

There is a huge difference between a Loui signing and a smart signing.
- VANTEL

I'm not saying it was a smart signing, but hindsight is 20/20.

At the end of the season before signing Eriksson the Canucks had very little of anything. Of those we now consider bright spots:
-Granlund had just been acquired and posters were assuming we swapped AHLers
-Sven produced 28 points in 69 games, again many thinking he was not going to cut it
-Boeser finished his freshman season
-Virtanen struggled to get more 10 mins per game

On top of underestimating the kids above, Vrbata/Burrows produced terribly, Sutter played 20 games and only 7 forwards produced more than 20 points.

Again, not the best signing, but if you've been planning to move on from Hansen, Burrows, and eventually Sedin's then you needed a guy with a track record of producing in case the list of kids above failed to pan out

If Dahlen goes to Brynas he will be playing with Adam Boqvist! That's solid management.

Honestly I don't get the personalization. What we all share is an interest in the Canucks. If the views differ or coincide with yours or others has no relevance because it is the variance of the mix that stimulates thought.

What observation in last night's Canuck game was of interest or concern?

People come here to engage in Canuck discourse. I don't come here to engage in petty drama or arguements.

is it against the CoC, or will it piss off Whitey or Makita if we post things that intentionally trigger circle jerkers or pom pom wavers? Asking for a friend

Excellent points to put things in perspective. Recall JB had Lucic as his number one target back then. May have fallen into over paying LE same deal when Lucic snubbed Canucks for a bigger deal with the then "unproven" Oilers. That part being they hadn't shown then that they were a force and playoff contender.

Of course, Lucic left out contract reasons and said it was the McDavid factor. Which pointed out he saw no one he could play with and win with Canucks. So it was bleak in terms of offense. But as you said there was no youth or fillers to be had then.

LE's contract is undeniably bad. Maybe a measured price. But it's just one contract. There aren't any other long term ones for older players. So regardless of what LE does it doesn't hurt the team now or later. At least not in the aggregate. Unless there is something else to this?

Nope. I don't think the topic de jour has anything to do with the canucks.

Why is everyone rattled this morning? Wasn't last night a great result? I only watched the second half of the game but I thought they player pretty well. Isn't this what everyone wants? A relatively entertaining game with decent effort but a loss to help the tank? One thing is for sure, if Edler is out for awhile, the tank starts early this year.
