They will be a tweener for sure

Agreed, love the poor attendance. The scarf giveaway really highlighted untouched seats, showing that it isnt people in line somewhere in the causeway they just were empty. I am hoping the effect is just lower prices and not to stray from drafting and developing properly

- WhiteLie

do not lower ticket prices.

you put up with the poor attendance but don't discount the product.

no freaking giveaways either. papering the place is bad practice!

take the losses. build the right way and regrow the brand.

But is Dahlin really the next Karlsson? A guy like Karlsson comes along as often as Crosby or McJesus...

#nomoreswedes!

we have no way of knowing what will come of Dahlin. All signs point to Hedman+Karlsson type. If he is a true number 1 dman, not even considered Elite, than he will instantly be better than what we have had in the last 10 years. Dahlin has been playing a league above his age since he has essentially put skates on, and not only not looking out of place, but also being exceptionally good in those leagues.

I tend to agree. You will be able to get tickets in the secondary market for $25 per game. Cheaps seats are available just not through the Canucks

setting myself up for disappointment? I have come to terms with the disappointment and smile at the outcome of a Canucks loss. Give me a top 2 pick and I will be happy. I don't ask for much

I am right there with you man. There are so many scouts and bloggers posting Dahlin gif's and just the way he plays is so exciting. I don't know if anyone can thread the needle and do outlet passes like he can.

the couple of games i've seen, it's amazing how involved he is on every play.

it seems that whenever he's on the ice, he has the puck or is the primary defender. basically, he's within a stride of the puck at all times. (exaggeration but that's what it felt like for 90% of his shifts)

I just want to be entertained during the lull until we can get back what's ours, the President's Trophy...

That's whay I'm talking about, hardest trophy to win in sports, the only one that counts. And we are the only consecutive winner in modern history.

I get not discounting the product, but I am of the mindset that while the team is rebuilding you should also be rebuilding the fanbase. There is an opportunity for average fans to go and enjoy themselves and become diehards through that pain of losing. Even if its just upper level tickets that get a slash

if you want to go to the games for cheap, you can.... right now.

there are affordable tickets all over the place. you just have to put a little more effort into getting them and depending on your social circle, you'll probably be offered free tickets a few games this season.

Apathy is not an easy thing to overcome, especially in a city like Vancouver.

It'll take at least a couple of years, unless they somehow manage to acquire a game changer.

Personally I am fine. I get offered tickets through work and pay for the odd one, but my point was that a casual fan likely doesnt have the same type of social circle.

As a business, this would be the opportunity to reach out and build brand loyalty. Keeping high prices and maintaining the need to go through second hand sales just emphasizes that this is temporary and soon enough you wont be able to afford attending. Lower prices and increase them incrementally as the team improves and some may not notice

as don mentioned earlier, you can get very affordable tickets in the secondary market.

anyone can buy tickets for less than $50 each. go on craig's list, there are enough season's tickets holders who will unload tickets below face value.

i'm sure a mid-week game against columbus or carolina will be dirt cheap.

the point being that it is affordable to go to games. the high priced tickets argument is an excuse for the empty building.

vancouver will not watch losing hockey. the game experience is largely created from the winning atmosphere not from the product in this town.

this city has canucks fans... not hockey fans.

Exactly, just do a little research. I get most of my tickets free through work but I also have a ticket broker on speed dial and go to lots of games last minute for as little as $25 for upper bowl. If your schedule is relatively flexible the games are almost free these days.

Tickets are affordable, but unless you live downtown there's also parking. Then there is food and beverages. Even when I had tickets it always cost me at least $100 to go to a game.
