do not lower ticket prices.
you put up with the poor attendance but don't discount the product.
no freaking giveaways either. papering the place is bad practice!
take the losses. build the right way and regrow the brand. - RealityChecker
this and allow the true fans to get the seats in the lower bowl again , the place has been filled with to many cell phone staring wannabees for to long . |

not at all. Take the entire year and experiment with different lines for all I care. But to continue playing Dorsett and Sutter with continuous failure would not be smart. If they give results, than great, but why give those specific players more ice time at 5v5 if we continue to lose - Codes1087
If Green is using Sutter and Dorsett as shut down guys, they will always see the most icetime 5on5. Others teams play their best player the most so Van counters that with Sutter and Dorsett. |

That's my perspective too and that's what I thought you meant... But the conversation was turning around to 'you can get fee seats no problem".
I think those fee corporate seats are one of the biggest problems at major sporting events, especially at Rogers. For the most part, those people are the ones killing the atmosphere in the building. They have no vested interest in the game and their behaviour demonstrates that. Most, not all, are distracted or disinterested.
The only time they show any sign of life is leaving early and getting to their car to avoid traffic after the game.
Do away with those lame corporate fans. Schmucks. - bloatedmosquito
the move from the pacific coliseum to the new arena was a cultural as well as a physical shift.
from hockey family to corporate.
metaphor for the league in some respects. |

Great idea here! Why play Bo on the powerplay at all, you know? I like what I see.

I should have probably added that these are the lines that Green is practicing with currently, and that this is in no way my idea lol |

Last few times I've been so unimpressed by the lack of passion. Just so quiet for a hockey game. I don't get it at all. In the 90's it was go home with a hangover and a hoarse throat from yelling and heckling. Not sure when we became so polite, but I'm not a fan. |

my issue, from an analytical standpoint, is that neither Dorsett or Sutter are either shot generating or shut suppression forwards. They create little in terms of offense or defensive over the history of the last X amount of years. To use players such as them as designated shut down players is not something I would have envisioned, but I guess there is a reason I am not a coach and Green is. |

I don't know, what's your view on nacho cheese?
I think if your platform involves bringing the nacho hat to Royals games, you've got a shot. |

i get to a few games every year that stand out for me , and i end up paying fair dollar for good seats. I go and i feel like i am disturbing those around me for cheering my team and jeering the competition , riding the zebras for bad calls. it almost like they should dim the lights in stands so the people worried about being seen cheering could hide in the dark

There does need to be a balance and lowering of prices though to get true fans to the lower bowl. Even CAL and EDM went through it the past ten years. You can't keep charging $310ea for 10th row lower bowl seats on the red line. They eventually had to drop prices to get asses in the seats like they should be doing in Van. It's the blue-collar types that will spend vast amounts on beer and pizza and such...but they can't do that if they can't get to the game. By the time a father of two wants to take his family to the game and sit in the lower bowl it could be a $1500 dollar night...ridiculous. Prices have to come down to realistic levels. |

No I agree with you. You would do a better job. What is it that a true fan sees that the coaching doesn’t? This is the exact same style of coaching that the last guy got fired for, it’s actually really comical. I was, and currently still am, a fan of a coaching change......but not to replace someone and have the new coach do the same things. |

I guess there is a reason Green is a coach, and we are all here critiquing his actions lol. I don't really know the thought process behind Dorsett/Sutter being shutdown players. It worked for 1 game, and we all thought he was a genius, it hasn't worked since and now we all think he is an idiot lol |

Definitely. And I think they will, there's already less scalpers becasue they cant afford the risk. Prices will go down I think, just not for big teams. |

a few simple things to try and gain some momentum would be , go back to setting up a point shot on the pp , role the lines for PP's for a bit just send out guys and let them work for the advantage. rotate the goalies after loses , you lose , the other guy plays .
a message to the coaching staff less is more and KISS... |

i get that.
lowering the ticket prices does not affect that though. when you can already get tickets for the price the team would theoretically lower them to, there would be no net change in the price of attending a game.
social entertainment is expensive in cities.
lowering ticket prices would not do anything except for the mentally gifted who are still buying their single game tickets through the team. - RealityChecker
I think they'd do much better lowering concessions for the next few years. People will then get drunk enough they'll have fun regardless of the product and the rink will be full. |

All I want to see is them attacking the offensive zone with speed and patrolling the defensive zone with some aggression.
An opponent's fear needs to be present at both ends of the rink. |

So many lame ducks that dont want to cheer for some reason. Like why did you go to the game if you weren't gonna cheer? |

I'd be interested to see how concession prices have affected the Atlanta Falcons' bottom line since they lowered their prices. Its ridiculous how cheap you can get things there

That totally terrifies this organization. After all these years they still have a problem dealing with it. American franchises seem to handle it no problem. EPL too. Yet the canucks are baffled.
Then again I don't blame them. Vancouverites aren't known for their restraint and decorum. |
