the move from the pacific coliseum to the new arena was a cultural as well as a physical shift.
from hockey family to corporate.

I want to go to a playoff game in Nashville. I've heard they are doing things right. |

I think they'd do much better lowering concessions for the next few years. People will then get drunk enough they'll have fun regardless of the product and the rink will be full. - golfingsince
have draws at intermissions giving out free beer to people sitting in x seat. if no one in that seat carry over until a winner. |

I'd be interested to see how concession prices have affected the Atlanta Falcons' bottom line since they lowered their prices. Its ridiculous how cheap you can get things there

That totally terrifies this organization. After all these years they still have a problem dealing with it. American franchises seem to handle it no problem. EPL too. Yet the canucks are baffled.
Then again I don't blame them. Vancouverites aren't known for their restraint and decorum. - bloatedmosquito

What would have been the fallout if bettman was hit by that container of orange soda at the cup presentation?
The ramifications would have been ugly.

Last few times I've been so unimpressed by the lack of passion. Just so quiet for a hockey game. I don't get it at all. In the 90's it was go home with a hangover and a hoarse throat from yelling and heckling. Not sure when we became so polite, but I'm not a fan. - neem55
Goes back to social media being all consuming, as soon as you step over the threshold all mobile devices signals should be blocked.
Might actually force people to watch the game. |

Sure what’s your stance on closing down vehicular lanes and creating bike lanes instead. |

Sedin Sedin Granlund
MDZ Hutton
PP1
Baertschi - Burmistrov - Boeser
Stecher - Pouliot
PP2
Vanek - Horvat - Gagner practicing as extra/3rd PP.
#veteranmovement - Codes1087
I get that Bo scores a lot off of the rush, but he could be a great net front presence on either unit. Burmistrov sucks on the PP. Gagner should be given a chance on the 2nd unit away from the Sedins..I could see him working well with Boeser.

Not sure if someone shared this yet, but The Athletic posted a discussion they had with Benning a few days ago and found these 2 quotes about rebuilding interesting:
“When you sit in this chair, you walk a fine line. You have paying customers that want to come to the games and be entertained. And part of being entertained is your team's competitive and they have a chance to win at the end of the night.”
Clearly, Canucks ownership hasn't been willing to follow a similar path (not intentionally, at least).
“As we're going through this rebuilding process, they want the team to put a good product on the ice, to entertain our fans that pay money to come watch the games,” said Benning.

I love it. The low attendance is the biggest middle finger to FA that we as fans can extend |

Well there it is.
Aquilini is a shortsighted idiot that should stick to real estate investments instead of trying to do what so few teams have, rebuild while trying to make the playoffs with an old, stale core. #Torts4GM

I think they should also focus on figuring out a 4F-1D set up. The D are already offensively challenged, putting 2 of them on the PP isnt going to help much |

Yes, someone posted this. Pretty clear Aquilini wants to dress a competitive team to entertain the fans. The problem is, young star players are exciting not old slow Vets. Quite a dilemma. We badly need to get some luck next draft. |
