I think after 8 seasons it's time to get rid of the ridiculous drop pass at the center line.
It's so predictable, and every player except the guy who receives the pass is standing completely still. - classic321
There is absolutley nothing wrong with the drop pass. Most teams use it. The problem is it's the only play they have. Use the drop pass 40% of the time and it can be effective.

You realize that about 80% of the teams in the NHL do this right? The pass is not the problem, its the speed at which its executed - or NOT executed. The defender that picks up the pass is supposed to be at full speed in order to barrel into the the O-zone, unfortunately every defender we have is slow as sh&t and therefore it doesn't work. Its f-ing embarrassing.

As well the forward usually has the option to carry it into the o-zone with speed, thus pushing back the defenders. The Canucks are way too slow, and the drop pass is easy as hell to read.
Sutter isn't on IR so I think thats why only 1 call up.
I dont have a problem with Chaput for pressbox. If the call up had a reasonable shot of getting into the lineup, then I'd be more concerned - WhiteLie
Why not call up Magma then? Chaput is actually playing while Magma is sitting in Utica. This just disrupts the Comets for no reason. Small beef I know.

It is embarrassing to watch. They don't have speed coming into the zone so the opposition merely lines up at the blue line and usually checks the stick to break up the play or make them go offside. When they dump it in, they simply get beat to the puck. When they finally get set up in the zone, they just form a circle around the perimeter and pass until they are forced off the puck or make a shot from the outside, which is usually blocked.
It was especially hard to watch on Saturday when Calgary had more shots on goal on the PK then we did on the PP. And Calgary scored. Brutal.

Thanks Carol
And thanks pres.cup for not thanking nucker101... he's incouragable.
Also, I played gm mode of nhl18 last night.
Traded the twins 50 percent of hank retained for the jets 1st and third
Traded edler to buffalo with a third for Reinhardt.
Simulated the season, got the last wildcard spot, upset the oilers in 7 games, list in the second round to the kings.
Proof that we're a better team without the Swedes.
