The issue is playing a 200' game.
Very few can get away with not doing it. Eg Kane OV
Speed & skill is indeed todays game & cost control is everything.
Vets r Vets & only good if they perform to their contract.
Depth at C & D have always been & will always be what makes it all go.

For us we bide our time til the Sedins r gone & thats after this year.
All the wing talent in the world won't overcome the lack of playmakers.
No threat on the point added to that means cup runs.
Having a Price to carry a team is rare & at that its not enough.

As we sit we need EP & Gaudette to be legit & get 5-6 20g scorers out of our F's down the road for balance & tough match ups. Look at the Leafs for an example.

Adding Dahlin would be a huge octane boost. I like Lind's game a lot & Gads can be a nice player to groom into a top 9 role. Players like Sven i don't expect will be here long. This next TDL & draft will be the most imprtant one yet for JB.

I thought that seemed like a high guess but turns out last season the following teams had 5 20-goal scorers:
Washington
Winnipeg
Toronto
Pittsburgh
Islanders
Edmonton

Only Chicago had 6

On the flip side, Colorado, Detroit and Vancouver only had 1

Injury callups will happen.
Next season competition will be better for spots.
The following season should be a target for real PO push & beyond maybe.

2019 is the earliest i can see as us being much better.

Also, some thoughts on NCAA free agents Alex Kerfoot and Will Butcher. Where would they be if they'd signed with the Canucks?
