That's exactly why I 100% still support the Virtanen pick

Disagree
Loui's chemistry with the Sedins, leadership and goal scoring prowess will be invaluable here.

An 18 year old kid is only 26 after eight years. Took the Blackhawks six from Duncan Keith to Patrick Kane. - LeftCoaster
Blackhawks are another team that had terrible mgmt, people forget how bad they were in the late 90's and most of the 2000's before they got good. They made the playoffs once 11 seasons between 98 and 07 (the year Kane was drafted).
They went through 5 GM's in that period 6 if you count Pulford twice and had plenty of picks before starting to hit on guys.
Tallon seemed to be the catalyst there.

So two games vs a quick sens team, 1 win 1 SOL. Win vs the Oilers. Another fast team.
Two loses to 2 heavier teams in Wpg and Cgy. - manvanfan
We leaned on the old guys in the losses and the young guys to counter the speed in the games in which we got points. Trends that are worthy of notice for sure...

They're probably gonna win 30 times this year. Good teams played down to their level last year, got a lot of backup goaltenders last year. |

It's usually two management groups who put together good teams, much like you're seeing in Toronto. Burke and Nonis have more players than Shanahan on that team. Kadri was drafted eight years ago. |

The Vanek signing really shows why it's stupid to give out big bucks and term for vets like Eriksson for rebuilding teams.
Thanks everyone |

True, but I doubt they'd be in the position they are now if Nonis was still the GM.

True, he was following in Burke's footsteps, compete at all costs, (frank) the draft. Then again, ownership in Toronto finally accepted what Shanahan was selling in a tankjob. |

Thats starting to really annoy me, send him to Utica if hes not getting decent time. Has been playing good. Botchford as much of an idiot he is made an article and had gifs in them with the good things hes been doing to the bad, the verdict is he should play more - phyllee
Ya. A little frustrating. Must make him wonder what he is doing wrong. In this case his linemate, Dorsett, was in penalty box for 17minutes. If this trend continues then they should send him down, although he has appeared to show that he belongs in the NHL.

With the exception of Hellebuyck, every goalie is a starter.
What’s Ottawa say tonight, yeah we play down and besides they played their back up goalie
Edit just figured out what you were posting on me |

Kadri looks like he has put it together but that's also because he is a complimentary piece, most of the players making a difference there have been brought in by the current group.
I do agree with you though it more than one GM usually are responsible for team's success. |

Game prediction:
5-1 Ottawa
Karlsson one goal 3assists
Horvat, Baertschi, Granlund with most ice time
Vanek scores.
Sedins with 15+ minutes of ice time.
Stecher and Hutton play even worse than previous games (if that’s even possible)
Most here will blame the vets, and proclaim the youth don’t play enough.
Complaining will start in full force after one miscue. - Makita
