Anyone who's played hockey at the Major Junior level or NCAA and above has great stories. Those were some of the best times for me.
I was out golfing with a few of the boys the other day, former NHLers, the stories were flying about the "good old" days. Len Barrie, as we were at Bear Mtn, came up a few times - LeftCoaster

no, I didn't play in the show, couple years in a league below and I packed it in. Went to university. |

I agree. I think when you have two question marks in goal whoever is giving you the best effort keeps the net. I'm just watching for good mechanics and technique and some sign of confidence from our net.
Not a big fan of the term 'hot' for good goaltending. Now give me 6 wins in a row and I'll say a goalie's hot. - bloatedmosquito
I thought Nilsson looked super calm and positioned himself well all night. He's only an inch shorter than Marky but outweighs him by 30lbs, he looks massive in net. Marky let in some really weak goals in the first few games. But both goalies have never been given more than 32 and 26 starts, so the job is up for grabs. I'd say Nil vs Boston, Marky vs. Buff. |

It is my belief that if you are truly rebuilding a team any roster position is up for grabs and should be filled based on performance. - bloatedmosquito

They are both listed at 6'6 but Nilsson is definitley taller and wider. At least 6'7, dude is massive. |

My main entry point with Trooper was the "Thick as Thieves" album. I don't remember having been especially excited about the big hit, "Raise a Little Hell." I liked "Round Round We Go," and I liked that they were local.
After that, "Hot Shots" was the go-to album around North Vancouver for a good long time.
I was thrilled when I got to DJ at one of their shows for the first time—in Kamloops, in the 80s. Possibly the same summer that I saw the Hip for the first time, so they are connected for me. Trooper was the legendary band, the Hip were the upstarts.
I played "We're Here For a Good Time" to death as a 'get 'em dancing at the beginning of the night' track, and worked with them several more times at the Commodore. I think I saw them most recently at the PNE in 2010.
They kinda lost me when they started playing "We're Here For a Good Time" at the beginning *and* the end of their shows. That was just too much. But I do give 'em credit for a catalogue full of catchy, memorable hits and one song that still gets played in hockey rinks—even in the U.S. - Carol Schram
If memory serves me right, I first encountered Trooper when they were playing at a "sock hop" while I was in elementary school.
edit - must be wrong - I am too old for that lol
