Josefson is a made of glass and is only good in the shootout. He is more or less a complete waste of a roster spot. Coming from a Devils fan here. He sucks. Waste of a first round pick. - SnipeDevil6

I say eff anybody who is crying because they cannot monetize their season tickets. Go earn your money! Buying tickets and then reselling them for higher prices has become so annoying. When you have bots buying up tickets, which then ALL go to the secondary market, the performers lose, the people who want to go to the event lose, the only people who win are the dredges of society who black market the entire industry. Screw you Schopp, and good for you too. You bought the tickets, now eat 'em!

I never tried to sell my tickets to make money. I bought them because I enjoyed going. And if I had some I couldn't use becaue something came up, I only ever sold them for what my cost was or I gave them away because I'd rather they get used than completely waste the money I spent on them.
The secondary market is a major issue when it comes down to it though, that's for sure.
EDIT: Schopp wasn't crying about not making money on them, he was basically saying that as a season ticket holder, he should have a lesser cost than joe schmo going to 1 game, but because the tickets are for sale on the secondary market so cheap, his cost is actually higher.

This is exactly why I never bought seasons. My cost in the secondary market overall was less than if I paid for seasons, even when this team was still a playoff team.

In that sense I agree with him, but it's still a case of the secondary market, which is a ridiculous point. Like yourself, if it's worth it for you to go, for your entertainment, then you can justify it. If you're stuck comparing your investment of entertainment dollars to somebody using the secondary market, well that's just a gamblers mentality. Why can't I sell beers outside for 6 dollars (instead of 10 inside), or t-shirts for 5 (instead of 30)? the answer is obvious. So, too, should the conversation go about the secondary market. It's dirty.

If you listen to him on the radio for 2 minutes, you know that's exactly what he has. He's all about numbers to a fault.

Well there you have it. Gambling is set up for you to lose. Brag all you want when you win, because you overcame the odds, but female doging about losing, when you're supposed to lose, is just whining.
Also on the Schopp point: season ticket holders bear some responsibility for making the atmosphere terrible. I see so many people not standing for goals or watching the play passively like they're sitting on a bench park watching ducks swim in a pond. And then they sell their tickets to out of towners for what should be the best games. If you buy seasons and sell to Leafs fans in order to recoup money, either the tickets are too expensive in the first place, or you're a casual fan who doesn't care about the team. The 100 level is wasteland of bored "fans" who act like it's a responsibility to come to the game, but they don't really want to be there. Ugh, it's an entitled attitude and this is coming from a millenial

I think a lot of that changes when the team becomes good, though. Even Toronto, who is the poster child for "uninterested suits" holding lower bowl tickets, became a raucous atmosphere come playoff time.

I guess it's just the whole attitude of holders who think the team owes them something and yet, they don't hold up their end of the bargain to make it a loud and fun place to play, especially against division rivals, but even against the penguins. "Terry Pegula robbed me again" is a lame argument when you sell out your fandom at the first chance to make a buck, or you sit there and don't give the team anything to feed off

Yeah, also Terry didn't buy the team in order for YOU to make money. Buy tickets or don't, your choice.

Honestly it’s not even that fun anymore.
I was all for the the tank, and it ruined part of my fandom. I’m just used to them losing and almost rooting for it to happen.

The arena is just so stale. From the inside you wouldnt know who played there if you were guessing. There is nothing that signifies the Sabres play here.
This is what the arena should look like for every sabres game.

This is all true, no argum3nts from me.
That said, the failure of Fashing, Baptiste, and Bailey to grow and take positions away from guys like Moulson, Gionta in the past would have eliminated the need to sign guys like Pouliot, Josefson and Griffin.
Those players need to step it up big time...if they could play effectively in slots 4-9 we would be signing a slightly different tune.
