Other then D pairings, lines probably the same as they start last game except for Burmy and Bo being switched. D pairings obviously just replacing Biega for Guds. - manvanfan
I hope they play with emotion or else this has the chance of being a real poopty boring game.

I don't care about Kassian.
I was talking about Gubranson's undisciplined penalty that cost the Canucks the game. - Marwood
I don't care about him either but that was a bad hit and he got zippo, hes a repeat offender also. The radio talk was kassians was more suspendable. |

one game suspension is fine. I am not surprised. Once he left his feet you knew that there would be a suspension. - canuckfan069
Fair enough. My beef is more with Vatrano's carelessness than the suspension as a whole. |

Vatrano goes from around 75% facing the boards to 100% facing the boards at the very last second. That difference is the difference between being able to brace for the hit and protect yourself or not. If you can't see that then this whole argument is pointless. - RonPielep
His hips mightve been 75% facing the boards, but his shoulders and thus the numbers on his back were showing the entire time.
IMO his stopping/spinning lessen the impact prevented it from being worse |

Yes because guys on the radio know so much more. I've know a couple of people who have worked in radio they were not the sharpest tools in the shed and one of them told me he was only hired for his voice. |

Chaulk it up to "fast game". As long as if the roles were reversed there were be a similar outcome even if Guddy took the hit and didn't even go down. - Beatle_john
If the positions were reversed and Gudbranson did a last second back turn and Vatrano hit him you wouldn't hear anything about it because Gudbranson would have probably just skated it off. Size difference is a big factor here. |

This only became an issue when they started calling the free-hand every time. I remember when we were learning contact that if you were engaging someone, you'd wrap your arm around to prevent injury, today's game thats a holding call |

If the NHL wants credibility, the rule needs to go both ways.

Honestly, I would rather see Guddy play with a chip and risk some suspensions than just be another D-man. He does not need to instigate but he can intimidate. - Beatle_john
I didn't think it was suspension worthy but it is what it is. Moving on.
But I do like the fact he is playing tough hockey. |

6-2 Buffalo, Kane and Eichel light up whichever backup is in net. Edler being out is the gift to tankers that keeps on giving. |

You only have to look at both hits and make judgment and kassians was worse, the video tells the story but then again the league always makes bad examples of the canucks. |

Look at the last second change in direction his skates/hips are pointing when he fully commits to facing the boards and praying he won't be hit. Of course his numbers are showing when he is 75% facing the boards. The difference is Vatrano fully commits to not protecting himself which results in the ugly boarding. If he doesn't take that stupid leap of faith at the last second then he can use his spare arm to brace into the boards and he can also redirect some force by moving towards the corner. |

Your last 3 posts directed towards me have had 0 substance and been nothing but whining about me. Take your own advice.
I'm not trying to engage you about it because you've made your position clear and apparently you have nothing more to add. But please continue to whine about my replies to other posters. |

Yet you keep repeating the same thing, too.
I find you amusing and have therefore decided to keep engaging with you. It's been quite fun so far. |

Meh, to me his should position never changes until he releases the puck. I agree that there is onus on the player with the puck to protect himself, but Gudbranson had options to make contact and retrieve the puck within the rules - thus the suspension |

If this was the case then players would turn their backs all the time and there wouldn't be any hitting just an insane amount of holding calls. |
