I don’t think anyone saw this type of performance coming.
Losing, sure after all the changes made, that could be expected for awhile until they adjusted. But we expected a more upbeat, high tempo game filled with energy and spirit.

Playing without passion, going through the motions...not so much.

But, this is the Sabres that we are speaking of...where they have built a solid reputation for underachievement. This team is better on paper than the on-ice performance...just like last year’s team.

Absolutely no accountability.

The problem with this franchise's history is that those are considered "fond memories". Others have things called championships that get filed under that category.

I love the premise of the Sabres suffering from the reminents of the West Coast Trip.
It is especially relevant when playing a West Coast team...that played the night before while the Sabres had 2 days off.

So can someone educate me on the salary cap ramifications of a player retiring before the end of their contract?

After 2 period they were getting outshot by a lousy Canucks team that played the night before 37-13 that's really really bad

Sam, you currently have 2 points and are a -8 through 8 games. That projects to about 20 points and -80 for a full season. What are you specifically doing to get better and play up to the expectations of a 2nd overall pick entering your 3rd year? Are you participating in the O’Reilly Practices? Are you happy just to be in the NHL as your performance suggests?

Ryan, you threw a hissy fit in Colorado because you wanted more leadership and to play center. Now that you are making $9.0M for this season, what are you specifically doing to lead this team out of the funk? What leadership are you playing, as a veteran presence on this team to ensure the other 22 players are ready for the opening face-off instead of waiting for the 3rd period to actually play the game...after 66% of the game has already been played?

Kyle, as a veteran FA acquisition now paid $8M for this season, and given you have 1 point to date what are you doing to contribute $8m worth to the team? How specifically are you and the other underperforming veterans holding each other accountable to play commensurate with your salary?

I sense a fan holdout coming... no one shows up for 1 game as a demonstration that is sure to be heard around the world.
