My prediction tonight we’re all going to female dog about Charlie McAvoy and how we should have drafted him
Rinse and repeat |

that said, even pham mentioned that teams playing a home game after a long road trip usually have a pretty poor game - Michael Pachla
Come on we got to stop making up excuses they suck ..
They haven’t been playing the last four games should’ve been well rested for yesterday |

for as sucky as the were, with the correct call on that play, the score is still 2-2 |

Who gives a poop what the score was? That could've been their 10th goal beating us 10-2 and it still would've been a terrible blown call.
And they didn't score after that anyway, so your "they would've lost anyway" is moot. |

Yet, you're the one who brings it up an awful lot...

probably...but maybe not...
that call changed the dynamics of the game...would it have put a nail in the coffin for other teams?
maybe...but probably not |

I've never had a problem with the challenge system. The way I look at it is this: the NHL is a multi-million dollar industry. Do what it takes to get it right. Offsides is offsides whether by a millimeter or a mile. However, I don't understand how last night's replay was inconclusive evidence that he was offsides or that he did not have possession, but if the standard for inconclusive evidence is going to be that unattainable, then the system needs to go altogether, because it no longer serves any viable purpose. |

it wasn't inconclusive...they pulled out a rule that said a player in possession and control of the puck is allowed to be in the zone before the puck...
the definition of possession is this: "the state of having, owning, or controlling something"
that did not occur

In all honesty, who cares? We were awful all night from top to bottom.

I agree that got screwed, but the league obviously felt they could not say Virtanen did not have possession. If he had possession, as Marty Biron pointed out on Twitter in your link (before the league's official explanation, mind you), then it's a good goal. Also, the call on the ice was a goal, and therefore there needed to be indisputable evidence that he did not have possession. I, like you, believe that replay shows that he did not, but the league felt it wasn't conclusive enough. If that's the standard they're going to use, the challenge needs to go. |

Pach,
I know you usually do a monthly stat thing for each player and the team collectively that's spot on.....any chance we can skip this and refer to the season opener in November?
Just wipe this start from existence. Kind of like my wife with our wedding day. Just never acknowledge the nightmare. |

we are not going to compete this year, so in essence Duchene would be a rental for 2018-19 |

Anyone else get annoyed when people call offside "offsides"? Like what in gods name is that? Never in my year's of playing hockey did I hear anyone say a play was offsides. It makes no sense and doesn't even sound logical to add the s at the end.

I flew home for a game during the bankrupt year
Saw them get blown out by the sens when Hossa put on a show
that team that stunk up the arena, had much better fundamentals than this team
a simple break out pass, or covering the break out player on a pp is so hard for this team
let alone a fore check, or going to the corner and dig out the puck and center it to your team mate

It's because of football.
In football it's offsides. And people use it interchangeably. I've stopped getting annoyed by it because it happens all the time.

Ah ok that makes sense. I don't really watch football and being in Canada, never heard anyone say offsides until I started reading here like 10 years ago. |
