That's a fantastic story but in it lies the double standard.
3 boys + 400 condoms = proud daddy
3 girls + 400 condoms = mortified daddy - bloatedmosquito
having healthy sex is healthy. For everyone. Should be proud daddy in both cases. |

That's why I didn't post before what I think it would take . I am not a fan of OJ so I don't mind if he gets shopped around but Benning seems to like him so that is what matters. - VANTEL

I dont mind sweetening the pot on with an expiring contract like Gudbranson, particularly if he indicates he wont be sticking around, but would have to be a really good/safe return to include any picks in the top 3 rounds for me.
That being said, if we are willing to part with certain players at this stage of a rebuild, I cannot image they have much value beyond some team getting desperate. If our awful D deems Hutton/Stecher expendable, who would see that as good value without throwing in other assets? - WhiteLie
We are all just spitballin but this is a decision year. We are at the end of an era with the twins expired contract so I think JB thinks he needs to make a move. There is no one in the farm system that is two years away for taking over top line duties .
I like the young guys and I think they all took a step up and now they need to find two more replacements.
I think they can do it, I don't see a need to extend the twins as a security blanket any more. Time for the next chapter |

Stetcher and Hutton are garbage. - Marwood
Sam Reinhart is nothing to call home about either imo. His skating isn't what it should be to be an NHL center. Why would they want to trade him if he were so good?
Just my two cents on Reinhart. |

It could be incredibly exciting or a complete disaster. I just hope they have the most capable people in place to manage this team through it.
I'm not convinced yet that they do. |

This team needs a slow centre like it needs a hole in the head.
I think JB has mentioned improving team speed is one of his main goals. I'm going to guess that any upcoming moves will involve players with exceptional speed.
Well I hope... |

I know but as a winger and almost half his goals come on special teams. He's not garbage, I just don't think he's what the Canucks need. Actually last year 9 of his 17 goals came on the PP. |

It's not that different from us. We have 11 guys on the roster that were brought up through our system, and that is including Demko right now and Tanev and Stecher who were college free agent signings - nucks_94
Yeah I included college free agents as free agent signings and didnt include for prospects traded for, so Canucks would be at 9. Just thought it was an interesting distinction to the drafting notion to have so very few players on a good team be home grown.
Contrasting to other good teams like Tampa, who has 11/24, or Washington 14/24. I am too lazy to check the rest, but pretty interesting to see who's core is built from drafting and who traded to get to where they are |

Only once in awhile do you get lucky enough to come across an idiot GM who'll give you Tyler Seguin for Loui Eriksson.

Nope! But I hope to. I grew up in a house where this was an appreciated concept. You're a bit grossed out by it as a kid, but as an adult I appreciate what my parents were like to all the kids equally. Hippies FTW! |

Am I the only one that wonders what you all see in Sam Reinhart? The only thing is he was drafted 2nd overall in 2014. He had only 47 points last yr playing with Jack Eichel. He’s been a minus player ever since he’s been in the league and he’s averaging 4 penalties a yr. he’s not a big enough producer to be only offensive. Overrated! Just like his other brothers. |

I think he's more suited to play winger and has shown very high hockey IQ playing the left sideboards on the powerplay (something we haven't had... maybe ever, no Nassy play left or right sideboard?). I think he's got legit top6 NHL talent, which is more than I can say for Sven. Not worth selling the house for but hutton or sven and a 2nd I would do. There's a reason the kid went 2oa. |

I am ok with another losing season beyond this one to wait for other prospects to be ready, I dont like the scorched earth rebuild but I also dont want to overpay UFA's with term and money. It'll be interesting season and offseason, especially if ownership isnt sold on JB |

And there is the gamble. I think you have to consider age, years in the league, and physical ability of the player.
Pretty big gamble at this point. |

St.Louis might be another team with low numbers as well, though I think that is a result of trading away players once they were established, to try and get them over the hump.
I also just like giving ammo to those who want to argue with you about drafting |

I hope JB is being aggressive in at least calling about young players. lots of lockerroom issues drive good young guys out. |

Personally I'd pass and draft that talent or develop it. Henrik used to set up on the halfwall on the PP, collected a lot of points from there. Maybe Pettersson can be that guy? |
