I don't care about Duchene because of the cost, term left on his contract , and he will be 27 in Jan.

As for Reinhart I would go harder. I would look and see first of all will Gudbrandson accept an extension? If no he would be my offer . If he does accept it would be directed then to Stecher or Hutton as the starting piece.

I wouldn't want them to touch Duchene, unless it was a complete steal but with how Sakic has handled this that's not going to happen.

Reinhart would be interesting if he could be had for something like Hutton +. Would much rather keep Stetcher than him.

I believe it would take OJ much like the Drouin Sergachev trade .

I am aware of where Puli out was drafted. I have no problem if they go after Reinhardt over Duchene, just what is the cost? We need to keep our picks, so maybe if it was Sven and Hutton for Reinhardt and a 4th.

Can we Trade Tanev????

Can somebody finally agree that Tanev needs to get the farfegnugen out of town....!! Let's trade that guy already. get him out of here... for a Duchene, Reinhart, or whatever else someone is selling...

Parise out 8-10 weeks. Is Granlund injured too?

Ya that's a non-starter. Drouin is 4 years younger – that makes a pretty big difference.

That's why I didn't post before what I think it would take . I am not a fan of OJ so I don't mind if he gets shopped around but Benning seems to like him so that is what matters.

I like OJ, just if he's getting shopped would rather have it be for an equally young C, not someone who's just reached/has reached their prime.

If I posted what I would really offer people would flip out so I chose the safe route

Hutton, bearcheese, 2nd and Subban... probably doesn't get it fine.

I dont mind sweetening the pot on with an expiring contract like Gudbranson, particularly if he indicates he wont be sticking around, but would have to be a really good/safe return to include any picks in the top 3 rounds for me.

That being said, if we are willing to part with certain players at this stage of a rebuild, I cannot image they have much value beyond some team getting desperate. If our awful D deems Hutton/Stecher expendable, who would see that as good value without throwing in other assets?

I was thinking about this the other day, Minnesota is one of the rare teams largely built through trades and Free Agency. Their own drafted players include:

Koivu
Granlund
Zucker
Kunin
Eriksson-Ek
Brodin
Dumba

7 players out of the 25 players on the NHL roster/IR

He is our top dman ATM. I'd deal Edler plus a current roster player before Tanev. Tanev is still young and this team will compete by the time he is 30 (and in his prime). By then he will be a 4 eating minutes. If Guddy is as good as he looks (and signs) and DP is as good as he has looked in a very limited sample this D corps won't be as awful as everyone thought (especially if we can get one more this draft to complement OJ).

It's not that different from us. We have 11 guys on the roster that were brought up through our system, and that is including Demko right now and Tanev and Stecher who were college free agent signings

Buffalo has the worst GA in the league, that's what they'll want to address.

I like Reinhart, wouldn't be apposed to a deal.

Maybe they want to upgrade Lehner and his 3.29 GAA

Demko straight up?

That reminds me of a story a friend told me about a friend of his who had 3 daughters, the guy called to get his septic tank pumped out and as the septic guy was waiting for the guy to write a cheq. he said "you must have some active sons?", "what do you mean?", "well I pumped out about 400 condoms from your tank", " I only have 3 daughters 16, 18, & 19", "owwwww sorry".
- A_SteamingLombardi

That's a fantastic story but in it lies the double standard.

3 boys + 400 condoms = proud daddy

3 girls + 400 condoms = mortified daddy

It's true. Good pro-scouting to nab Niedorieder and Spurgeon in trades young. Seem to really develop players well at the A level. One of those teams not getting the credit yet, super deep and will be good for a long time.
