Very very good show as expected. His band is super-tight musician-wise and the sound quality in the Edmonton Rogers place was outstanding.

Setlist was 'real good' with some tracks that personally I had never heard live before.

I wouldn't say it was as good or emotionally moving as the Wall tour but real close.

Very happy I went though. Second half of the show there is quite the display on Trump lol when he was starting Pigs on the Wing and he had a drop-down screen in the middle of the Arena facing both sides and it was bloody cool. Again not as cool or impactful (for me) as the Wall theatrics but very well done overall.

Could not believe how good the acoustics were in the new building in Edm.

Interesting that our record looks so much stronger with Del Zotto in his spot. Its almost like Edler is not a good defenseman

Pluses and minuses but really at this point all Edler is, is a minute-muncher.

Not me. I tried going last year when I was there, but no games on. I think Vanhockey guy, watches them regularly. Both seem to be on fire to start the season. Closest Junior to me is a 7 hour drive to Prince George.

On the Vancouver Canucks …
Rick Dhaliwal: The Canucks have some injuries to their blue line. An agent asked yesterday if had heard that Canucks are talking to the Tampa Bay Lightning about defenseman Slater Koekkoek.

Rick Dhaliwal: The Lightning are carrying eight defensemen, and Koekkoek is having trouble getting into the lineup.

Jason Botchford of the Vancouver Province: There has been some speculation that the Canucks are shopping Ben Hutton. There had been some speculation this week that they would/should look to add another defenseman with the injuries to Alex Edler and Troy Stecher.

If Stecher was lost for the season, could see them looking to add.

Canucks GM Jim Benning said they are not looking to add any defensemen

Lind Gadjovich and every other Canuck prospect are four years away from being difference makers. They need stop gaps. Don't get me wrong I don't want no 5-6 year free agent . Four at the most if not , no thanks.

IMO Canucks are about 4 players away from being a competitive team. This is why I am open for a few moves. When we say bye to the twins this year and hopefully find a way to get rid of LE we will be a better team.

Most, if not all Canuck top prospects are at least AHL eligible next season, so I think the 19/20 season we shall start to see some of these prospects filter onto the roster.
Signing Free Agents will just make a logjam for their inclusion into the line up, unless they are short term signings like Vanek.

Id rather have Goldy, but hes just not ready yet. I watched him closely during the back to back games against the Marlies. First game, I noticed how he rarely has the puck, then second game I figured out why. He's never in position in the defensive zone. He strays down low too far and doesn't stick close enough to his point man so he can never intercept passes. Then, if the puck is on the opposite side and one of his Dmen throw the puck around the boards, he's out of position to get it and break out. He's skilled and fast enough to be driving the play outta his own end, but if he's never in position to do that then he'll sit in Utica until he learns.

Who do you think would make the team next year?

Gaudette, Lind, Gadjo, Dahlen, Pettersson, Palmu, Juolevi are all eligible to play in Utica I think. AG, EP, OJ, Dahlen would be my picks to play SOME games but I don't know about the full year. I'd say we're closer than 4 years from this group of prospects being impactful.
