I don't think its surprising, Loui is just not a good hockey player. He doesn't drive the play in any way whatsoever. Plus, He's too slow on the forecheck to create turnovers and only mediocre defensively. His spot has been taken by Jake, and he's a better player in pretty much every aspect. - Brooks_Light
Id rather have burrows or hanson in his spot any given day. Miss those guys, they produced effort every game |

I am enjoying the moment but I still want a top 5 pick a trade for a top 6 and a free agent signing in the summer. - VANTEL
with the job TG did with turning JV around I no longer have concerns with that UFA being E Kane |

I still would sign Kane if he wanted to play in Vancouver next year.
Maybe Detroit would like to try Eriksson with Zeterberg? |

Yeah I mean, Guddy and MDZ are exceeding expectations in my mind SO FAR, hope they keep it up and start scoring. I was seriously fist pumping when Jake scored tonight. That kid just seems to get better each game, and he's really jelling with the Sedins. Its actually fun to watch. - Brooks_Light
I really how he tracks the puck and how he reads the play to be in the right spot to score.
Both recent goals have been rebounds of his initial shot and he's right on top of it |

Reuben I forget but is it you that goes to Kelona games? I know its early in the season, but have you noticed that Kole Lind is outscoring Cody Glass, not by much, but its still encouraging. Have you seen either of those dudes play? - Brooks_Light
Watched the game the rockets won last weekend. Lind had a good game. Both guys have the ability to slow the game down and have great vision. Lind has a bit more of an edge to his game but I’d say Glass has a little more skill. |

Versus every other coach he's had? I think it has just as much to do with the player wanting to change as the coach helping them change. Jake was/is young and wanted to make it -- Kane has made it and still has his attitude, no reason for him to change now.
Hard no to Kane for me. |

Good point but don't disregard the fact that Kane is also a PF putting in goals and has changed his ways off the ice. Everyone eventually grows up. He is a top 6 forward. |

Anyone else not enthralled with the play by play team on 650? Batchelor is better than Nasal Joey Kenward but I thought TSN did a better job of continuing the Vancouver tradition of having some of the best play by play guys in the business.
Robson to Hughson to Shorty (still my favourite) to Ball (liked him too) to Abbot (better than Batchelor).
For the colour guys I'd take Tommy Larscheid over Tomlinson (weak to start but got better) and Hirsch (just doesn't have the passion for the job IMO).
Patterson is still my favourite host and I listen to the Patcast each week to get my dose (unfortunately the "I'm cool because I swear a lot" Botchford is also part of it).
Luckily I can still get Shorty on TV, but long gone are the days that I would play Shorty and Larscheid the radio while watching the game on TV...

He will get in the way of Lind or Gadjovich in the 19/20 season if he were on this team.

The Sedin's 5on5 zone starts percentage is amazing (75%)
Love how Green is deploying them right now. ~14-15 mins, mostly in the offensive zone. Perfect at their age. |

Lind Gadjovich and every other Canuck prospect are four years away from being difference makers. They need stop gaps. Don't get me wrong I don't want no 5-6 year free agent . Four at the most if not , no thanks.
IMO Canucks are about 4 players away from being a competitive team. This is why I am open for a few moves. When we say bye to the twins this year and hopefully find a way to get rid of LE we will be a better team. |

Haven't seen offensive starts like this since Gillis was "building" Hodgson's value" leading to the Kassian deal. It's working, so Kudos to TG. |

On the other end of the spectrum, poor Brandon Sutter's zone start percentage is 28%... The guy gets killed by the analytics community but it's way harder to get positive possession numbers when you're starting in your own zone most of the time... Unless your name is Chris Tanev |

Sutter Dorsett and Granlund have been Canucks best line this year. These are three players that will bridge the gap until the next gen is ready. I don't even have a problem with Gagner.
The D is better set for mentoring with Edler Tanev MDZ and EG |

Gagner may not be scoring much but him and Tanev are the only two players on the team that start more of their shifts in the Dzone and still have positive Corsi percentages... if you're into that kind of thing. |

I think Vanek Gagner and Burmistrov have been a reliable fourth line. |

I have labelled them but those that don't want to that's fine. |
