Went from Kohos to Bauers in 2008??? Was back to Kohos within a week, was sliding around everywhere and they just felt sloppy in comparison. It's like the favorite pair of gloves for you puck chasers...they may not be the best, but you play the best with them.

Yeah, you know the weaknesses of the equipment and you can compensate. Then you change equipment and you have to learn it all over again. Maybe the new stuff could have elevated his game in the long run, but it's a contract year for him, and our s3ason is slipping away. Why go through the learning curve now?

Exactly. I'd imagine he played with them over the summer to break them in or at least I hope so. It takes a while with pads even if you're playing every day...but yeah, contract year probably wasn't the best time to experiment.

It's insane how light these pads are becoming.

Every major company's pro line has their pads weighing in under 3 pounds now.

It's insane.

The new CCM Premiers that are coming out next year are crazy. My rep brought them in the rink last month and my god no wonder goalies are having a hard time adjusting. They're so light that with the strength and push off these goalies are used to having to do there's going to be a huge adjustment.

It's why I think Hank is struggling this year.
