Would I like to see more from him right now? Yes. But he's being asked to play a different position this year than he's played at the NHL level for the most part up to this point in his career. He's also being asked to do it with wingers that aren't exactly the greatest options either. He needs to be better, but he hasn't exactly been put in a position to wildly succeed at this point this year either.

All while being shuffled up & down the lineup, playing different positions, and with more linemates than I can count

No need to quit on the kid just yet

and how much do u think it takes to fill them?

-5mil by trading Moulson,
and that pays for an upgraded defenseman in the top4

Do it again with Bogosian, & u have his 5mil to play with as well

So that’s potentially 2 new top 4 defensemen
Plus Risto, Scandella, Guhle & McCabe

This is his 3rd year in the NHL
He’s played 2 full seasons
Counting a 9game stint before he went back to juniors is nonsensical

We'll see how it goes. An 0-8 start looks much worse on paper than it is because the team simply doesn't deserve to have such a bad record. But realistically, how do you come back from that? If they were the best team in the NHL they'd have a hard time making the Playoffs after spotting the rest of the league eight games. 

That said, I stand by my guarantee because however you want to take it is how I meant it.
