Totally disagree. ESPN will be fine and will be around. They're suffering from a bad business decision to overpay for the NBA, coupled with cord cutters and piracy affecting their business. ESPN legitimizes your league. If hockey was on ESPN, they would get paid less but they would be on in every hotel bar, airport bar in America every night of the week. Every business traveler who likes sports checks into their hotel room and puts on ESPN for some entertainment. Plus the production quality would be 4x's as good. NBCSN broadcasts haven't changed one bit in 8 + years.

- Buffalo--Sabres

The last ESPN TV deal offer to the was confined to only 2 nights a week on ESPN2 only if I recall correctly. Wednesdays and Fridays are already taken by the NBA for the foreseeable future.

I’d like to see Reinhart at 3C for an extended time...
but with some actual talent on his wings

- jdfitz77

The first 5 games this year we're clearly not enough to show how good he is. He is supposed to be "The actual Talent" others play with

You don’t have to hit the floor if you don’t want the revenue sharing.
- dadeadhead

All the floor has done is give marginal players too large of contracts and limit better/great players total pay. And drive us close to the next lockout. This leagues timeline is counted in lockouts these days.

J fitz , the difference between you and stripes is:

He brings up valid points. And I repeat his thoughts. He's clever and backs his information with knowledge and experience. He is generally the voice of reason here. I agree : it's hard to be in 2 places at once.

When someone ask sent Sam's parents, How long has you son played in the nhl?

You think they say since 2014-15 or according to the CBA .......

I don't understand everyone's beef with NBC Sports...okay, other than Mike Milbury.

ESPN didn't want the NHL because it cost them more to produce then they were bringing in. Their TV contract offer going into the lockout required the league to pay for the production costs, which is unheard of for a major sport's TV deal.

I also don't understand why colored jerseys at home are considered such a travesty. Nobody complains that the NFL does it.

I like the penalty for a failed offsides challenge. It prevents the "nothing to lose" challenges that coaches made in order to get a timeout. It was the same as the illegal stick measurement back in the 90s.

The trapezoid never bothered me.

The faceoff penalty is bizarre, but I will never understand, for the life of me, how it's so difficult for NHLers to square up on a faceoff while every other level of hockey seems to have it figured out.

- buffalofan19

Usually the faceoff penalty is called because the offender goes in early and makes contact with the opponent. It isn't about failure to square up.

Classic, throw out another insult because you disagree with me.

Post that your done responding to me

Then come back and sum up everyone's opinion, in your words.

Yes silent sam is super disappointing in my opinion. Every time the sabres lose, one player or another talks about coasting or not given enough to win. Happy to be in the nhl. I think he is one of the guys they are talking about

They let us watch the games on it?
- jdfitz77

The NBC Sports app has live video. I used it a lot when the Olympics were on last.

I believe they actually show Sunday Night football as well. I think they carry any sports that happen to be on NBC or NBCSN at any given time.

seems Antipin is out of the dog house

Antipin has played in two straight games after being scratched for four.

"He's made the best of his opportunity since he's got back in the lineup," Housley said. "He's moving his feet, skating, defending well — all the things that we're looking for from him.

"He's just sort of moving up and earned a spot to try on the power play."

I wasn't surprised he was in the press box, just didn't think it would be for 4 straight games. Thought he could benefit from sitting up above and watching for a game or two.

How much "damage" has he done with his 42 goals over parts of 4 seasons. Im talking about right now with his play, you keep hoping he'll be ok. It's not just the soft, heartless 9 games this year. He is NOT a core guy. Pretty much everyone up front is wearing an A . He's not even on the coaches radar for leadership.
- Boss34

Two full season plus what the 9 games from three years ago and 10 this year. He certainly has stunk up the ice, but his season total is much closer to two and a half than four, 42 goals in 2.5 seasons is not terrible by any stretch.
He has been invisible this year, but its hard to say hes done nothing or is useless. This year yes, the past no.
