Thank you, I guess it's different to call him silent sam then skunk?

Skunk is a joke around here.

It’s ok when he throws out insults though
Hypocrisy isn’t in his vocabulary

- jdfitz77

Insulting a poster should be viewed differently than commenting on sams "quiet" demeanor on the ice. Stop responding to me

Because "skunk" is largely an ironic term, yeah.

When you're using sexism to make a joke (e.g. Samantha), which has the implication that he "plays like a girl," that's a good sign that you're taking it too far

Best course of action here is to just not respond. He'll go away if nobody is interacting with him.

Good point... I’ve given up on any reasonable convo with him

Off topic...
but the Bills have been getting quite a bit of talk on NFL network the last few weeks

Two full season plus what the 9 games from three years ago and 10 this year. He certainly has stunk up the ice, but his season total is much closer to two and a half than four, 42 goals in 2.5 seasons is not terrible by any stretch.
He has been invisible this year, but its hard to say hes done nothing or is useless. This year yes, the past no.

- Sabres1523

How can any one be happy with his play? I thought he would be good, hopefully with out 15 on his line. I'm disappointed, can't express that here? The sabres are definitely looking towards his contract, let's see what you can do with out your bike mate/ roommate. Hopefully he pans out, he's only 22 or soon to be

I think a lot of that has to do with McDermott. He seems to be very highly respected and the way the team is playing is largely due to him at this point. I'm cautiously optimistic. We've seen this before....

You are literally the ONLY person on here who considers this “year 4” for Sam
- jdfitz77

This is year 3 as an NHL player for Sam.

Until you play your 10th game of the season, your EL NHL deal doesn’t kick in for ages 18 and 19. Once you’re 20 all bets are off.

Honestly, given the state of the team that year, they never even should have kept him for those 9 games. That was all Murray and his ego. And he ended up having to put his ego aside and send him back to Jr anyway.

watched "it" again this morning

those kids had some epic quotes

- homiedclown

The kid that plays Richie is fantastic. He’s also in strangers things which is based sorta on IT. The Duffer brothers wanted to direct IT. Steven King has some very nice things to say about the show.

We'll put, I can respect you for helping me navigate here. Long time reeder , occasionally a poster. Hopefully silent sam doesn't cross any barriers.

My sister plays hockey, and has all the grit and determination he's lacking. I agoligize , if I've offended by referring to him as a girl

Of course you can. But everyone that is responding with a different tone wants you to argue/discuss with facts, not hyperbole. He's played 177 games. Divide that by 82, you get 2.15, not quite four. If you want to say he's just started his fourth year since he was drafted fine, but don't make it sound like it's the end of his fourth year and still producing like crap. I think as Buffalo fans we all wanted, expect more from a 2nd OA. 42 Goals in 177 (.2373 per) isn't bad for an NHLer, but it's not up to the billing of a 2nd OA. Hope this helps everyone complaining after the team goes 3-1-1 in their last 5.

I didn’t mind it

I didn’t think he’d stick (not sure what Murray had in mind), but it gave him a taste of what to expect
Also, probably inspired him to really hit the gym hard bc he realized how far he had to go

We weren’t going anywhere that year anyways

So this is his 3rd full year, we can just pretend he didn't look lost thru the 9 games in 2014-15. I'm learning.

I don't think anyone on hear is happy with his play, from reading comments no one has said that either, just simply stating the fact that 9 games does not equal playing a full season.

It worked out ok, but I honestly think playing Grigorenko for half of the lockout shortened season helped ruin that player. That's on Regier though

Yes, you had an opinion and your sticking with it. Someday Rob Johnson is going to be great too.

Stripes, again I appreciate the wisdom. I'll try and back my point up with out just saying he's bad. It's the same as saying he's good with just taking his point totals into consideration.

I enjoy the board, I'd rather not be "that guy"

Sam did have 5 hits yesterday vs. Detroit, bringing his season total to 8 hits in 10 games

Pominville has never been a "hitter" but that doesn't mean he was effective out there. Even at 34 he's still playing a pretty good game.
