Marner just spent his last few games on the 4th line. Wasn't even close to the fan outrage there was when Konecny got the same treatment last season. Konecny by the way needs to smarten up or will be back in Hakstol's dog house. - Baxter27
Travis Konecny. I love the kid. In my top five of active players on this team. This kid keeps doing something to piss off someone from the other team and than gets rescued by the refs every time. I don't respect this.
No recall announced today means we will likely send 6 d to ottawa. With potentially no simmer leier I guess they want the spot ? Weise also might be injured. Idk if nolan will be game ready either. Roster kind of messy with all that. - Tfaehner
Are we at the point where we start talking about trading someone? - Streit2ThePoint
For the first time in a long time I'm happy with the outlook of the team. Just willing to let the expiring contracts expire and be replaced by more youth. Maybe Weise, and Manning/MacDonald but again I feel no fire to trade anyone.

Without MacDonald, the defense group falls apart! Can Provorov play without his trusty partner?! Just ignore Provorov-MacDonald having a sub-40% goals for % last year.

Anywho, new pairs look lit. - Mononoke
MacDonald in the lineup last night wouldn't have changed much in my opinion. it was more about a number of factors including the first game with new defense pairings, and mostly the Flyers just plain getting their asses kicked to a man by the Ducks last night. As far as the 40% goals for percentage. That's a team statistic. The Flyers weren't a good 5 on 5 team last year.

It was shaky D pairings, a second period that got away from them with Patrick leaving and Gudas taking a 7 minute break but I don't think the out come would have changed. They just got rolled by a hungry team last night.

The team would still have got rolled last night, the only change would be that half this thread would have been complaints about MacDonald.
